SettingsYouTube

The YouTube tab connects RICS to your YouTube Live chat so viewers can run the same commands as Twitch/Kick.
Read-only is the supported mode. RICS reads chat with an API key. Sending replies in YouTube chat needs OAuth and Google verification; that UI is not on this tab right now.
Guides (do these on Google Cloud, then come back here):
- YouTube Data API Setup — project, enable API, create key, Channel ID, paste into RICS
- YouTube API Quota — 10,000 units/day default and how to apply for more
Options → Mod Settings → RICS → YouTube tab
- Check Enable YouTube Integration
-
Channel ID —
UC…(use Find ID if you need a helper) - API Key — Get Key opens Google Cloud; Paste copies from clipboard (field stays masked)
- Go live on YouTube with chat on
- Connect (Read-Only)
You need Channel ID + API Key or Connect stays gray.
Master switch for this tab.
Your channel identifier, always UC + 22 characters. Not @handle. Prefer this over a display name so RICS does not burn search.list quota.
YouTube Data API v3 key for reading chat. Never show the full key on stream.
- Connect (Read-Only) / Disconnect
- Status: Connected (green) or Disconnected (red)
- Mode: Read-Only (yellow) until send/OAuth exists
Local estimate vs 10,000 units. Green / yellow (≥80%) / red (≥95%). RICS slows then stops polling near the cap. Real numbers: Google Cloud Quotas. Full explanation: YouTube API Quota.
- YouTube is separate from Twitch and Kick; you can run more than one.
- Must be live — offline channels have no live chat ID.
- Quota resets midnight Pacific.
- If Connect fails, follow API Setup troubleshooting.
