Purpose

Resolves wso2/product-is#28639

Documents the new built-in AI Agents conditional authentication templates (wso2/carbon-identity-framework#8366) in a new guide, Detect AI agents in login flows:

  • Templates: the two templates in the AI Agents category. AI Agent Blocking denies sign-in. AI Agent Human-in-the-Loop runs the first login step and then requires a human-only verification step.
  • Applying a template: how to add one from the Console.
  • How it works: how the default detectAgent() identifies agents through Web Bot Auth.
  • Choosing a human-only step 2: push notification and passkey are recommended; TOTP and email/SMS OTP are not.
  • Other identification methods to add to detectAgent(): Web Bot Auth with edge verification and a trusted header, user agent markers, and agent provider IP ranges.
  • Limitations.

Adds the page to the nav and to the conditional authentication index for IS next, IS 7.3.0 and Asgardeo.

Related PRs

Test environment

  • Built the IS next site locally with mkdocs serve and checked that the page and nav render. Checked that the linked passkey, push and IP-Based template guides exist for next, 7.3.0 and Asgardeo.

Document the AI Agent Blocking and AI Agent Human-in-the-Loop conditional
authentication templates and the methods for identifying AI agents inside
detectAgent(). Add the page to the 7.3.0, next and Asgardeo navs and to the
conditional authentication template lists.

Administrators copying the optional user-agent example into Asgardeo may be unable to use that script. Correct the example before relying on it; the previously reported ordered-list lint issue is fixed.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description includes all required sections, identifies the related issue and PR, summarizes the documentation scope, records the test environment, and includes the security checklist. Two security checklist items remain unchecked, but the description is otherwise complete and relevant.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes stay within #28639. They add the requested guide, add its conditional-authentication index entry, and add navigation entries for IS next, IS 7.3.0, and Asgardeo. The shared guide content directly covers the linked issue objectives.

Explanation

The guide implements the documentation objectives for #28639. It documents both templates, the detectAgent() Web Bot Auth checks, human-only step guidance, extension methods, edge verification, and limitations. The index adds the AI Agents category and template link. The supplied change summary shows documentation-only changes. It does not establish that the built-in templates themselves exist at the reviewed head. The related PR reference is not evidence of implementation in this review.

Resolution

Provide reviewable evidence that the built-in AI Agent Blocking and AI Agent Human-in-the-Loop templates required by #28639 are present at the reviewed head.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Avoid a for loop in this example.

Asgardeo adaptive scripts do not support loops. This snippet therefore cannot run as written when copied into Asgardeo. Replace the loop with a regular expression or explicit indexOf checks. (wso2.com)
