urlsplit() preserves a trailing dot in parsed_url.hostname. Therefore, https://api.agentmiddleware.dev./book does not match this exact set entry and passes validated_public_contact. The provider manifest can then expose the equivalent API host as the website.

Agreed, and no code change for now. This is the same merge gate as the CHANGELOG thread. api.agentmiddleware.dev does not resolve yet, so #222 stays unmerged until DevOps confirms that https://api.agentmiddleware.dev/health returns HTTP 200. I'm leaving this thread open so it keeps blocking the merge.
