First of all, congratulations for your work, it's super cool!
And yeah, it still works with Awesome 4.3-6.

Well, I'm not sure you are still on the project but it would be amazing to export the saved layouts to real files, to use them statically instead of regenerating every layout each time... or am I missing something?

Thanks. There is no feature that exports saved layouts. But layout history is kept in ~/.cache/awesome/history_machi. See
