❇️ View the official Wagtail public roadmap.
Our public roadmap is where you can learn about what features we're working on, what stage they're in, and when we expect to bring them to you. It also covers major community or project efforts that aren’t features.
Only items of significant interest to the community go onto the roadmap. Inclusion is based on judgement by the core team rather than a fixed checklist.
We track which specific aspect of our product strategy roadmap items align with, across the four pillars of our strategy:
- 🏔️ Future-ready content management: High-quality structured content, multiplayer content workflows, content discoverability and accessibility
- 🪢 Deep integrations and customizations: Structured data model, layered integration architecture, healthy package ecosystem.
- 🛠️ DX for humans with AI: Strong opinionated defaults, automation, comprehensive documentation.
- 🌳 How we build Wagtail: Strong design principles, sustainable contributor experience, community stewardship.
And supporting work:
- 🏗️ Enabling capabilities: Key supporting and enabling capabilities to deliver our vision.
- 🪴 Maintenance: Table stakes / fundamental hygiene that supports other work.
- Other: Everything else.
Every item on the roadmap is a GitHub issue, with labels to indicate high-level areas of focus. Some of the labels have special meanings:
- needs contributions: there is a particular dependency on more contributors getting involved.
- needs sponsorship: this item is dependent on a feature sponsorship.
- sponsored: this item is going ahead thanks to a feature sponsor. (thank you!)
