Dependency-light Python tools for auditing AI-agent context, output, handoffs, recurring costs, gate overlap, and capability usage — plus portable creative skills for design, generative art, and browser testing.
Agent Skills is a collection of 67 Agent Skills in five families:
- Guards — runnable audit skills (plus the interop CLIs), each combining an instruction file (
SKILL.md) with a standalone Python CLI that produces human-readable or JSON output and can return a non-zero status when a configured threshold is exceeded. They run locally, accept files or standard input, and need no credentials or network access. - Interop —
skill-syncunifies custom skills across every AI provider install into one universal directory, andsession-handoffcarries work context (session logs, history, files touched) between clients so any agent can continue work started in another. - Creative — design, art, frontend, and writing skills: three derived from anthropics/skills (Apache-2.0), consolidated and de-branded so any SKILL.md-reading agent can use them outside Claude Code, plus community CSS and technical-writing skills.
- Process — engineering-discipline skills from obra/superpowers (MIT) and hiendinhngoc/unknowns (MIT): root-cause debugging, TDD, evidence-before-claims verification, git worktrees, pre-work blindspot recon, reference comprehension gates, deviation logging, and pre-merge quizzes.
- Power tools — heavyweight skills ported from oh-my-opencode / omo-ai and anthropics/skills: git mastery, escalation web browsing with WAF bypass, LSP setup for 20 languages, AI-slop removal, skill authoring/evaluation, and
herdr— full-surface control of a terminal workspace manager for coding agents (panes, tabs, workspaces, agent lifecycle, remote machines, and the 103-method socket API) from any client.
The repository can be used directly from a clone or installed as the agent-skills plugin for Claude Code or Codex.
Every agent workload fails the same ways: the agent asserts instead of proving, context quietly bloats until quality drops, work fragments across clients, and AI-generated code smells pile up. These skills exist because each failure has a cheap, enforceable countermeasure. Find your workload:
| Your workload | What silently breaks | Required skills |
|---|---|---|
| Long-running autonomous agents | Context grows every turn; cost climbs and quality drops with no alarm | context-budget, skill-decay, open-loops |
| Shipping agent-written code | Narration comments, slop patterns, and unverified "done" claims reach main | comment-checker, remove-ai-slops, verification-before-completion, claim-audit |
| Multi-client workflows (Claude Code + Codex + others) | Skills fragment per client; work context dies when you switch | skill-sync, session-handoff |
| Debugging and hard fixes | Symptom patches instead of root causes; regressions hide behind refactors | systematic-debugging, test-driven-development, git-master |
| Per-model working agreements | Generic AGENTS.md bloat every model session; Astra needs lean, gated behavior instead | astra-init |
| Unfamiliar or risky codebases | Hidden landmines surface mid-change; misread reference code ports wrong | blindspot, verify-ref, lsp-setup, using-git-worktrees |
| Design and frontend delivery | Output looks AI-generated; CSS reinvents solved problems | design, css-pro-tips, webapp-testing, algorithmic-art |
| Planning and review discipline | Weak plans survive until implementation exposes them | grilling, domain-modeling, merge-quiz, log-deviation, linus-level |
| Docs and technical writing | Prose that buries the answer; docs that drift from reality | nbj-write-clearly |
| Research behind blocked pages | WAFs, JS-only rendering, and platform walls stop naive fetching | ultimate-browsing |
| Security-sensitive repos | Agents paste real credentials into examples; installed skills carry injection payloads | secret-gate, skill-audit |
| Token cost control | No client shows cross-client consumption; budgets blow silently | usage-audit, context-budget |
| Backend / deployment | New env keys never make it to prod; the deploy crashes at 2am; endpoints return 500s nobody checked | env-gate, api-tester, gh-fix-ci, gh-address-comments, log-analyzer |
| Security / headers | Pages ship without HSTS or CSP; clickjacking and downgrade attacks stay open | sec-headers, secret-gate, skill-audit |
| Sysops / network | "Is the box okay?" and "is it reachable?" have no fast deterministic answers | sys-health, net-probe, cron-audit |
| Proxmox VE administration | API calls can mutate cluster state or expose local files without a deliberate workflow | proxmox-ve |
| 3D / image generation | First generations miss the brief; Three.js scenes look like tutorials | image-gen, 3d-design, design |
| Graph / dependency data | Dependency chains and state machines are edge lists nobody can query | graph-tools |
| Browser extensions | MV3 boilerplate wastes the first hour of every extension project | ext-scaffold |
| Code review triage | Reviewers waste time on debug prints, TODOs, and trivial assertions that a machine should catch first | diff-review, comment-checker, code-review, merge-quiz |
| Finance / portfolio | A brokerage export tells you what you own, not whether one position is too big | portfolio-audit |
| Documents | Agents can't read docx/pptx/xlsx without installing heavy tooling | doc-reader |
| Web / SEO | Pages ship without title, meta description, or alt text — invisible to search and share | seo-audit |
| Career / job search | Resumes get filtered by ATS before a human reads them; weak bullets and missing keywords are invisible to the writer | resume-audit |
| Project onboarding | Every project has "the agent did X wrong, we told it Y" moments that future sessions repeat | session-rules |
| macOS automation | Agents can't touch the user's Notes, Reminders, Maps, Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Photos, or run Terminal commands without an API layer | apple-suite |
| UI / visual delivery | Functional tests pass while the layout is broken, the font is wrong, or the CJK glyphs are corrupted | visual-qa, webapp-testing, appshot |
| Agent administration | Multiple agent clients run at once; nobody knows which are alive, stuck, or killable | session-finder, session-handoff, usage-audit |
| Driving other agents in terminals | Sibling agents get launched by hand; reading their output, waiting for them, and coordinating layout has no scriptable surface | herdr |
| Independent second opinions | Self-review rubber-stamps its own blind spots; pasting code into a chat loses scope, files, and any way to check the answer | pro-review |
| Social research | Social content is behind logins and JS walls; public APIs go unused | social-research, ultimate-browsing |
| Personal ops | Forgotten subscriptions keep billing | subscription-audit |
| Maintaining a skill library itself | Redundant gates, dead skills, bloated instructions tax every prompt | gate-graph, skill-creator, skill-optimizer |

The plugin manifests in .claude-plugin/ and .codex-plugin/ expose the directories under skills/. Thirty-five skills are script-backed (guards, interop, security, backend, and domain CLIs); the rest are instruction-only — the SKILL.md is the skill. Every script is directly executable with Python and does not depend on an agent host.
Python 3.9 or later is required (CI tests 3.9, 3.11, and 3.12).
git clone https://github.com/Trac3r00/agent-skills.git
cd agent-skillsAll script-backed skills use only the Python standard library. context-budget also runs without third-party packages, but uses the cl100k_base tokenizer when tiktoken is installed and otherwise falls back to an approximate character-based count.
python3 -m pip install tiktoken # optional, for tokenizer-based context countsClaude Code:

codex plugin add agent-skills@agent-skillsThe plugin installs all 67 skills together. To use individual skills without the plugin, copy the relevant directory from skills/ into the skills directory supported by your agent host, or use the bundled skill-sync skill to link them into a universal directory.
Run commands from the repository root.

When a configured threshold is exceeded, the relevant command exits with status 1, making it suitable for local automation or CI. Input and usage errors handled by the scripts exit with status 2.
The test suite requires pytest.
python3 -m pip install pytest
pytest tests/test_skills.pyThe suite covers every script-backed CLI end-to-end and validates every skill's SKILL.md frontmatter (name matches directory, discoverable description). CI (.github/workflows/tests.yml) runs it on Python 3.9, 3.11, and 3.12 for pushes to main and pull requests.
To add a skill, follow the contributor contract in skills/AGENTS.md: frontmatter requirements, the CLI and gate conventions, and the manifest registration checklist.
