- Line 217: Revise the “Names are constants” statement to clarify that constants
only prevent misspelled identifier references; they do not validate string
values passed to NewEvent, so misspelled event names may still compile and fail
to match subscriber filters. Do not imply a registry or validation exists unless
the specification defines one.
- Line 143: The payload compatibility contract does not define how handlers
process fields absent from older persisted rows. Update the specification around
“Payload changes must be additive” to require new fields to be optional with
explicit defaults, or to provide versioned decoding or migration when a field is
required.
- Line 161: Update the payload requirements in the eventing framework spec so
payloads with unexported data retain their typed fields through JSON
serialization and deserialization. Require custom JSON codecs for each payload
and tests that verify round-tripping, or specify serialization through an
exported DTO while preserving controlled construction.
- Line 215: Update the event-naming compatibility statement to avoid claiming
existing names comply with UPPER_SNAKE_CASE without verification. Specify that
publisher event values, including values like user.login and flow event
constants, remain unchanged or describe the required dashboard and collector
migration; align the statement with the specification’s naming rule.
- Line 234: Update the `at_least_once` delivery transaction guidance to derive a
bounded context from `context.WithoutCancel(ctx)` using a defined write timeout.
Preserve delivery after client disconnects while ensuring the persistent insert
cannot block `Publish` indefinitely.

Define backward compatibility for newly added payload fields.
Persisted rows can outlive a release, but an older row cannot contain a newly added field. Unless the decoder supplies a default or rejects the missing field, the new handler can receive a zero value for a required field. Restrict additions to optional fields with explicit defaults, or define versioned decoding or migration for required fields. Go's JSON decoder matches fields present in the input; it does not enforce that every struct field appeared. (pkg.go.dev)

Require JSON codecs for private payload fields.
Payload requires only EventCategory(), while the design makes payload data fields unexported. Default encoding/json omits unexported fields. Unless each payload implements custom marshaling and unmarshaling, the per-subscriber JSON copy loses its typed data on both delivery paths. Require and test those codecs, or serialize through an exported DTO while keeping construction controlled. Go documents that default struct encoding includes exported fields; a custom marshaler overrides that behavior. (pkg.go.dev)

Verify existing event names before asserting compatibility.
The specification requires UPPER_SNAKE_CASE event names but states that existing event names already comply. Existing publishers use values such as user.login and flow event constants whose string values must be checked. Define how existing names remain unchanged or how dashboards and collectors migrate before making this compatibility guarantee.

Clarify what string constants can guarantee.
NewEvent accepts an arbitrary string, and a misspelled string constant still compiles. A publisher can therefore emit a different name, which a subscriber filtering by event name may not handle. State that constants prevent misspelled identifier references, or specify a registry or validation that checks the values.

Bound the detached runtime_persistent write.
context.WithoutCancel(ctx) removes the caller's cancellation and deadline. Publish performs the persistent insert before it returns, so a stalled database operation can block the publisher's request. Define a finite write timeout for this transaction.

Categories with no subscribers are skipped. On both paths, each subscriber receives its own copy of the payload, decoded from the JSON. Both paths therefore deliver the same values, and subscribers share no memory.

Make expired final-attempt claims terminal.
Line 337 increments ATTEMPTS when a worker claims a row. If the worker crashes before recording a result, the row remains pending; after the claim expires, another worker can claim it even when the attempt limit has been reached. Repeated crashes can exceed the limit without marking the row failed. Define a terminal transition for an expired final-attempt claim.

Define protection and erasure for queued audit payloads.
The EVENT_DELIVERY table stores category payloads as JSON. Failed and unregistered-subscriber rows remain indefinitely. If audit events can contain personal data, the eventing specification must define encryption and erasure controls for these retained rows before it permits that use.

Purpose
This PR adds the specification for a generic eventing framework.
Today's event pipeline was built for observability. Every event has the same free-form shape. Nothing records what an event is for, and every event is delivered best effort, then lost on failure or restart. Audit is the next feature to publish events, and it needs more:
Approach
The spec defines a new package,
internal/system/eventbus. Its key design decisions:auditorobservability. Attaching a category's typed payload is what puts the event in that category. Required payload fields are constructor arguments, so a missing field is a compile error.best_effortorat_least_once, and a deployment can override it.best_effortuses a bounded in-memory queue for each subscriber.at_least_onceuses a newEVENT_DELIVERYtable in the existingruntime_persistentdatabase, so no new infrastructure is needed. Workers on any node claim rows with a conditional update. Failed deliveries are retried with exponential backoff up to a cap, then markedfailedand kept in the table.at_least_onceevents are recorded after the change commits. A crash in between, or an unavailableruntime_persistentdatabase, loses the event. This window is accepted because a transactional outbox would need a table and a relay in every database that holds changed data.eventingsection indeployment.yaml. Every setting is optional and has a default.Related Issues
