Board data for the Arista C-360:

  • ipq8074: the integrated 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, variant Arista-C360
  • qcn9074: its QCN9074 card, the 6 GHz radio on PCIe 0 (variant Arista-C360-pcie0), and its QCN9072 card, the 2.4/5/6 GHz radio on PCIe 1 (variant Arista-C360-pcie1), which ath11k drives as a QCN9074

The stock firmware picks its board data per country at boot; these are its FCC_CE files, for the US and the EU and the fallback for a country without its own, in its default radio plan (6 GHz on the PCIe 0 card). They are what the units run on OpenWrt today.

Tested on a C-360 with OpenWrt main (kernel 6.18.55): ath11k loads them from the ipq-wifi package and all four radios serve, the IPQ8074's on 2.4 and 5 GHz and both cards on 6 GHz.

The device support that uses them: openwrt/openwrt#25941.

This was prepared with help from Claude (Anthropic), as the commits' Assisted-by trailers say.

  • qcn9074: its two QCN9074 cards, the 6 GHz radio on PCIe 0 (variant Arista-C360-pcie0) and the 2.4/5/6 GHz radio on PCIe 1 (variant Arista-C360-pcie1)
  • ipq8074: 2.4GHz + 5GHz or 2.4GHz + Low 5GHz
  • QCN9074 card : High 5GHz or 6 GHz
  • QCN9072 card :2.4/5/6 GHz radio (QCN9072 is the scanning radio, try not to enable this radio, it can be a headache.)

This adds the Arista C-360 BDF for the integrated IPQ8074 2.4 GHz and
5 GHz radios. The vendor firmware picks its board data per country at
boot (LINK_BOARD_DATA); this is its FCC_CE set, for the US and the EU
and the fallback for a country without its own, in the vendor default
radio plan (6 GHz on the PCIe 0 card, all of 5 GHz here):

- lib/boarddata/radio12/user/FCC_CE/bdwlan.b290_2G_5G_full

@nblky Thanks, you're right: the PCIe 1 card is a QCN9072, not a second QCN9074. It has the same PCI ID (17cb:1104), so ath11k drives it as a QCN9074 and takes its board data from the qcn9074 board-2.bin, which is why it is in this file; the device PR (openwrt/openwrt#25941) already calls it a QCN9072. I've corrected the description and the commit message here, and the two places in #25941 that still said "QCN9074 cards".

On the radio plan: these files are Arista's default plan, the IPQ8074 on 2.4 GHz and all of 5 GHz, the QCN9074 on 6 GHz. In Arista's own system the QCN9072 is the scanning radio. OpenWrt leaves Wi-Fi off by default, so nothing turns it on unless the user does. It served on 6 GHz in our test, and our own images use it for scanning only.
