Option to use hugerte?

A tinymce fork here: https://github.com/hugerte/hugerte

Why not? Someone should evaluate what changes would be needed for such an option.

Ok, I could investigate that, it seems to be a strait-forward replacement.

Could HugeRTE still be considered? With TinyMCE gone the GPL-or-pay direction, having the option to use an MIT-licensed fork that's alive like HugeRTE would be way better than staying pegged to django-tinymce@4.1.0.

BTW, can django-tinymce even remain MIT licensed if it's dependent on GPL/commercial-licensed TinyMCE?

In that perspective, I guess a new django-hugerte package should be created, forking this one.
