Feature request for X1Box: per-game setting graphics menus with user-configurable toggles.
What I'm requesting:
· FSR 1.0 (AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution) – spatial upscaling for performance/quality balance
· Anisotropic filtering (sharpens road/ground textures)
· FXAA anti-aliasing (smooths jagged edges) with quality presets (FXAA Extreme)
· Dithering (reduces color banding in skies/shadows)
· The ability to toggle these per game setting (e.g., racing games need AF, RPGs may not)
Why FSR 1.0 matters for X1Box:
· Open-source, easy to integrate, runs on any GPU (no AI hardware needed)
· Uses EASU (Edge Adaptive Spatial Upsampling) + RCAS sharpening
· Four quality presets: Ultra Quality (1.3x), Quality (1.5x), Balanced (1.7x), Performance (2.0x)
· Allows rendering at lower resolution then upscaling to native display – great for mobile performance
· Proven in emulation: already implemented in x360 Mobile, Dolphin and other emulators
Why it matters in general:
· OG Xbox rendering relies on texture filtering, anti-aliasing, and dithering to look correct
· Other emulators (x360 Mobile, AetherSX2) already have per-game graphics toggles.
Technical feasibility:
· FSR 1.0 is a spatial upscaler (single pass, no temporal data needed)
· FXAA is a standard post-processing pixel shader with quality presets (0–4+)
Benefit for users:
· FSR 1.0 boosts performance on lower-end devices
· Sharper textures in racing games (Forza, Burnout)
· Smoother edges without heavy performance cost
· Games look correct across different Android devices
