IETF's WG is actively using Cacti as its experimental test bed and demonstrably rewards implementation and conformance reporting. A reference implementation that is spec-current, evidence-correct, and recovery-complete strengthens the Last-Call→RFC transition story. This release aims to align the specification to the implementation as much as possible.
