I have successfully created a LIVEGUI with Calamares configuration bellow.

Keep the PR as long as you see fit, and if it's required to change >app-admin/calamares-3.4.2-r1.
For the moment calamares-3.4.2-r1 has only recently landed in ~amd64, hence the accept_keywords, and few changes compared to the old 3.3.14 series, among:

  • customized package_use
  • customized accept_keywords

But this is about it.
Documentation has been prepared in the temporary location here: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Immolo/Sandbox/Installer

As well as the full gentoo patch of calamares compared to main stable release 3.4.2: https://github.com/calamares/calamares/compare/36d30c49...TableFlipper9:calamares:gentoo-patches-3.4.2b.patch

What's left TODO (which does not impact functionality):

  • Artwork via calamares-gentoo-livecd
  • Additional configuration requests
  • Squashing BUGS

Uploaded the test ISO in a custom location: https://iso.argentlinux.io/GENTOO_CUSTOM/livegui-amd64-20260715T023809Z.iso

MD5 hash for ISO: e213562f06932d531781e8854013a694 livegui-amd64-20260715T023809Z.iso
