A few more diagnostics based on Cassak et al. 2023 https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.130.085201

as a data reduction operator that is basically a moment of the
distribution function and meassures the changes in entropy over time.
This is useful to meassure numerical collisionallity as well as to get
physics insights on non-reversible changes.
compared to a Maxwellian with the same density n, flow velocity U and
temperature T. Compared to the definition of the H function
   H = \int f log(f) d3v with
this introduces
   \sigma_{rel} = \int f log (f/f_M) d3v
as suggested by Cassak et al. 2003.
i.e. sigma_{rel} / n as as suggested in the supplemental material to
Cassak et al. 2023 is a good meassure for the non-maxwellianess of the
distribution.
