synlig is abandoned upstream (last commit 2024-12-10) and its UHDM frontend doesn't build against yosys 0.62's refactored AST API. yosys-slang (povik/yosys-slang) is actively maintained, officially supports yosys 0.52-0.65, and provides the read_slang SystemVerilog frontend as a yosys plugin (slang.so).
