A tiny Weston module that adds DPMS idle handling to kiosk-shell.
Weston's core idle timer emits an idle_signal, but kiosk-shell does not
handle that signal by itself. This module listens for it and calls
weston_compositor_sleep(). Libweston's normal input path wakes the compositor
and powers the outputs back on after keyboard, pointer, or touch input.
- Weston with matching libweston development headers
- A C compiler, GNU Make, and pkg-config
timeoutand a headless Weston backend for the integration test
On Arch Linux:
sudo pacman -S --needed base-devel westonmake
make checkThe Makefile detects the installed versioned pkg-config package, such as
libweston-15.
sudo make installThe default destination is:
/usr/local/lib/weston/kiosk-idle.so
Then load the module from every Weston configuration where idle DPMS is required:
[core]
shell=kiosk
modules=/usr/local/lib/weston/kiosk-idle.so
idle-time=30See examples/weston.ini for a complete minimal DRM
configuration. A greetd setup and the logged-in user session normally use
separate Weston configuration files; both must load the module.
Weston modules use the libweston ABI. Rebuild and reinstall this module after a major Weston/libweston upgrade:
make clean all check
sudo make installThis module only handles display power on compositor idle. It is not a screen locker and does not provide authentication or session security.
