The Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) system is a BMW IT product that automates the extraction, classification, and routing of documents across business units. It reduces manual document handling time and integrates with existing BMW enterprise systems.
The IDP product consists of the following components:
- Document Ingestion Service – accepts documents via API or email
- Classification Engine – uses ML models to classify document types
- Extraction Layer – pulls structured data from unstructured documents
- Routing Service – routes processed documents to downstream systems
- Backend: Node.js, Express
- Frontend: React
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure
