I was thinking about implementing an anyio or trio branch into this library at somepoint that would allow for other types of threads to be implemented within asyncio. I would be willing to write all of it myself as a bonus. This would be similar to how I approached cyares DNS Resolver Library where asyncio and trio were wrapped into the project.
