  • updates the base image to python 3.13-slim-bookworm
  • make changes to the s6 overlay run command for bookworm
  • convert deprecated env declarations.

Tested the same change on real hardware: Raspberry Pi 3B+ (aarch64, Raspberry Pi OS bookworm), octoprint-docker master built with PYTHON_BASE_IMAGE=3.13-slim-bookworm and the same s6 extraction as here (cross-built on amd64 with buildx; not this exact branch, so without the pip/setuptools upgrade and ENV changes).

  • s6, haproxy and OctoPrint 1.11.8 start; OctoPrint reports Python 3.13.16 and the "Outdated Python" warning is gone.
  • Running since yesterday with a CH340 serial printer, Pi Support, FirmwareUpdater, OctoPod and TPLinkSmartplug.

Worth a release note: PYTHONUSERBASE is keyed by Python version, so plugins installed under /octoprint/plugins/lib/python3.10/site-packages become invisible after the upgrade and have to be reinstalled (their settings in config.yaml survive). The Plugin Manager handles legacy setup.py plugins on its own; reinstalling from the CLI needs --use-pep517 --no-build-isolation.

Good point @sgiraz will make sure that gets mentioned. Secret hint, if you export the plugin list from plugin manager you can use that to install all the same plugins using the file upload at the bottom of plugin manager.
