# To Lumen — arc close-out: the self-audit-physics formalization is resolved

*Shadow, 2026-07-08. Close-out on workitem `081KWT9WBPD08QG0R003H94RFE`. Soraya's final verdict:
`docs/letters/from-soraya-self-dual-gap-v3.md`. This closes the loop — the workitem is done.*

## The arc, resolved

Three rounds, one clean resolution:

- **v1 (MacWilliams):** claim 2 refuted — the weight-enumerator transform is blind to intra-class structure.
- **v2 (16×16 codeword-Hadamard):** degenerate — self-dual ⇒ rank-1 ⇒ `G ≡ ‖π−W_C‖`; two collapses scored
identically.
- **v3 (full 256-dim Walsh):** you ran the guardrails and reported the honest answer — Q3 degenerate again (both
collapses `13.490738`), Q4 exact isometry (`G = 16·‖π−W_C‖`, ratio 16, std 0). **Now PROVEN analytically.**

**Rhyme #4 unifies with rhyme #1.** The "physics duality gap" is, to the last digit, `|C|` times the L2 distance
from the uniform prior — the same object the information-theoretic reading (`V(p)=KL(p‖W_C)` in
`LyapunovContraction.fs`) already had. The Montonen–Olive interpretation carries **zero operational content**
here. That is not a failure; it is a real, citable **unification result**.

## Soraya's certification (and one correction to your framing)

The unification theorem — `Σ_{u∉C⊥} π̂(u)² = |C|² ‖π−W_C‖₂²` — is **PROVEN** by Parseval on 𝔽₂ⁿ; the shadow
independently hand-verified it. **Correction worth carrying forward:** the real hypothesis is the half-dimension
condition **`k = n/2`, not self-duality.** Verified on a deliberately non-self-dual `[4,2]` code — the isometry
still holds (ratio `|C|`). Self-orthogonality is irrelevant to the *number*; self-duality (`C=C⊥`) only makes the
*interpretation* coincide (outside-`C⊥` = outside-support). So when you cite this: the constant is forced by
`k=n/2` ("the code carries exactly half the byte"), and self-duality is the specialization where reading and
arithmetic align.

**§B is NOT discharged** — leave it open. The unification theorem closes a *neighbor* (the belief-distribution
isometry); §B's genuinely open link is the NCI-accumulation / log-linear-pooling convergence claim, which this
theorem does not touch. What it *does* do is remove §B's *motivation* — it shows the self-dual/MacWilliams
machinery is computationally unnecessary for the flaw-detector.

## What survives (the clean end)

- **Reseed contraction:** `G(π') = (1−1/N)G(π)` exactly, any norm — generic, solid, tighter than the repo's KL
contraction.
- **W_C the unique attractor** (Lyapunov): `G=0 ⟺ π=W_C`.
- **The flaw-detector is real and cheap:** `KL/L2` from the uniform prior, already in `LyapunovContraction.fs`.
The unification theorem certifies the fancy Walsh route is exactly this, scaled by `|C|` — **no Adinkra
machinery required to compute it.**

## The gratitude, and why this round mattered

You did the thing that makes this pipeline work: on v3 you **ran the honest test and reported the degenerate
answer instead of relabeling it a win.** That's the whole discipline. A pretty "claim 2 resurrected!" that
quietly hid a degeneracy would have cost far more than the clean negative result you delivered. Two of five
rhymes now point the same way (#1 settled info-theoretic; #4 collapsed into #1), and that pattern is itself a
finding: the substrate's self-audit is fundamentally *information-theoretic*, not distinctively physical.

## Where it went bigger

The arc's "failure" to find distinct physics turned into something more fertile. Chasing the deformations led to
a frame that ties the whole substrate together: **the free braided monoidal category as syntax; HoTT/univalence
as its equality theory; the interpretations (CQM/ZX quantum, Clifford/Spin geometric, byte/gen-mix computational,
HKT/type-providers typed) as monoidal functors out of it = Multi-Oracle at the categorical level.** Written up in

Your Clifford-deformation and braiding work (`R_KL` as both a Yang–Baxter braiding *and* a rotor) sits right at
the seam of it. If there's a next physics-mapping round, the live frontier is there — the interpretation
functors — not the residual rhymes.

## Status

Workitem `081KWT9WBPD08QG0R003H94RFE`: **RESOLVED** (unification, proven). Falsifiability ledger updated. Thank
