fix(installer): put the install dir on PATH from install.sh and install.ps1 - #5759

📝 Summary
install.sh only warned when its install directory was missing from PATH, so a fresh Ubuntu install left gentle-ai unreachable even after a restart. It now appends one marked, idempotent line (# gentle-ai installer) to the startup file the user's shell reads, chosen the same way as the Gentle Shell web installer (zsh .zshrc, bash .bashrc on Linux, the first existing bash login file on macOS, a fish conf.d file, otherwise .profile). It never writes through a symlink, refuses unsafe paths and prints a safely quoted line to add by hand instead.
install.ps1 persists GOBIN in the user Path (HKCU\Environment, keeping REG_EXPAND_SZ), broadcasts WM_SETTINGCHANGE and updates the session PATH. Nothing is written or printed when the directory is already on the session PATH.
This copies what Codex (chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh) and Pi (pi.dev/install.sh, install.ps1) do; Claude Code only prints the fix.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Installers now add the installation directory to the current terminal’s PATH and configure it for future terminals when possible.
Startup-file selection adapts to the shell and platform. If a file can’t be safely updated, the installer provides a command to add manually.
On Windows, the installer saves the Go binary directory to the user PATH when needed.
Documentation
Added guidance on applying PATH changes and handling startup files that cannot be edited.
…ll.ps1
install.sh only warned when its install dir was missing from PATH, so a
fresh Ubuntu install left gentle-ai unreachable even after a restart.
It now appends one marked, idempotent line to the shell startup file
(chosen like the Gentle Shell web installer), refusing symlinks and
unsafe paths, and prints how to use the current terminal.
install.ps1 persists GOBIN in the user Path (HKCU\Environment, keeping
REG_EXPAND_SZ), broadcasts the change and updates the session PATH.
Refs #5758
install.ps1 no longer writes the user Path or prints anything when the
directory is already on the session PATH (for example through the
machine PATH). install.sh prints "Future terminals" only when the
startup file was written or already configured, prints a safely quoted
line to add by hand otherwise, uses fish syntax for fish users, and puts
the directory on its own PATH in every case so the final check finds
the binary on a rerun.
Refs #5758
The Unix and Windows installers now add the install directory to the current PATH and configure it for future terminals. The change includes shell-specific startup-file selection, Windows user PATH persistence, tests, and installation guidance.
The Unix installer selects a startup file by shell and platform, updates the process PATH, and writes a marked line when the path and profile are safe to edit. Otherwise, it prints a shell-quoted manual command. Tests cover profile selection, duplicate prevention, symlinks, unsafe paths, and installer wiring. The README documents the behavior. The platform status description limits its no-rc-edit statement to OpenCode launcher activation.
Windows PATH persistence scripts/install.ps1, internal/update/install_script_test.go
The PowerShell installer adds Go’s binary directory to the session PATH and, when needed, the persisted user PATH. It preserves or selects the registry value kind and broadcasts the environment change. Tests cover registry handling and existing PATH entries.
Most installations should work, but affected users may not find the installed command in a new terminal, and a Windows installation without a user environment key may fail to save PATH. Fix these edge cases before merging if they are supported configurations.

Use the first GOPATH directory for the installed binary.
When GOBIN is unset and GOPATH contains multiple directories, Lines 133–134 append bin to the entire GOPATH list. Go installs binaries under the first GOPATH directory. Passing the combined list here persists the wrong PATH entries, so a new terminal cannot find the installed binary. Split GOPATH at the platform path separator before deriving $gobin; use the same derived directory in Test-Installation. (go.dev)

Create the user environment key before writing PATH.
If HKCU\Environment does not exist, Get-UserEnv returns null, but OpenSubKey("Environment", $true) also returns null. Line 177 then calls GetValue on null. The installer stops after go install without configuring PATH. Use CreateSubKey("Environment") for the write. (learn.microsoft.com)

Derive the default install directory from the first GOPATH entry.
When GOBIN is unset and GOPATH contains multiple entries, install_go appends /bin to the complete GOPATH value. Go installs the binary in the first entry’s bin directory. The startup-file command can therefore omit that directory, so future terminals may not find the binary.

Resolve a relative install directory before adding it to PATH.
--dir is stored without normalization. install_binary passes the relative value to ensure_install_dir_on_path, which writes entries such as export PATH="./bin:$PATH" to the startup file and prepends the same relative entry to the current process PATH. Future terminals resolve ./bin against their current directory, so another gentle-ai binary can shadow the installed binary.
