This is a continuation of #1 and attempts to both categorize and regroup all elements found in #1.
From a motivational perspective:
- Motivation to Start playing the game:
- Want to become a good Pokémon Trainer (be the user type and dive into the world)
- Motivation to Move (go outside):
- Earns Points (find Pokestops, fight gyms, catch Pokemon)
- Brings Star Powder to power up Pokémon (by Catching Pokemon)
- Brings candy to evolve Pokémon
- Pokémon appear randomly at any location (except for some due to respect/danger)
- Nearby Pokémon are shown in radar --> gotta move to catch one you want
- A given amount of distance has to be walked / ridden by a bike to hatch eggs
- Motivation to Discover (new places / information):
- Additional information on collected content (learn more about the franchise/community)
- Different Pokémon appear at different locations more often/regularly
- Pokéstops are points of interest (currently uncategorized, no additional info, no need to stay)
- Gyms are points of interest, too (currently doesn't matter if there are opportunities to sit)
- Visiting Pokéstops brings all kind of items needed for the whole game (random right now)
- Motivation to Socialize (with other players):
- Gyms can be occupied by multiple players of a team (only 1 Pokemon per player allowed)
- Gyms can be fought together with other players for a better chance to win
- Lure modules can be placed at Pokestops which attracts other players (as everybody profits)
- Motivation to Keep playing:
- Increase the Trainer Level to become a better Trainer (Goal: Being the best)
- Fill the Pokédex (Goal: Collect them all)
- Get all badges in Gold Form (Goal: Mini-trohpies for different things)
- Others from same team needing support (meaning the chosen group at Level 5 by "team")
- Direct comparison indicators (Level, Pokedex, Badges)
- Hatching eggs keeps the change to get all Pokémon even when not traveling much
