Persist the selected build source through host updates instead of regenerating official images over a custom installation. The updater validates the chosen GitHub checkout and preflights all seven chosen public OCI images before changing cluster resources; missing beta/custom images stop the update without falling back to stable.
The rendered core images, Hasura migration image, streamer and both server runtimes follow the profile. Tags pull on restart, exact digests stay pinned, plugins and unrelated manifests are preserved, and installed Git provenance is recorded. A source edit during preflight stops the apply. The named ConfigMap and narrow API RBAC support companion App Settings and source-specific update checks.
Validation: all existing panel script suites and six new source-selection regression tests pass locally, with shellcheck and Bash syntax checks. Deployment backports only these hooks onto the existing PG17 checkout; it does not deploy current main manifests or perform a database upgrade.
