VSOCK is a means to communicate processes running inside VMs with their host machine. This is currently used by StackRox for scanning vulnerabilities in VMs running with KubeVirt/OCPVirt and feeding back the information to the system running on K8S/OCP. With this type of output, fact would be able to run inside a VM and feedback information in a similar manner.
