Description of the new feature / enhancement

When making microtonal (or simply up- or down-tuned) music using OpenUTAU, it quickly becomes cumbersome to manually edit the pitch bend parameter note by note. It would be good if the user could specify the base note pitch relative to the default (A=440, 12-tone equal temperament), so that the notes center upon the proper pitch, and copying and pasting the notes also preserves the proper pitch.

Proposed technical implementation details

Like how FL Studio can allow users to specify a "fine pitch" per note, enable OpenUTAU users to specify a "base pitch" per note in cent increments, separately from the PITD parameter.

Maybe you could coordinate with https://github.com/takunnma5286/OpenUtau_microtonal to see how they implemented microtonality.

This might be a beta thing, but we do have a "tuning" parameter now. Would that be what you're after?

@BagelHero Does the “tuning” parameter change 1) the output pitch and 2) the “pitch curve” preview accordingly? (I can’t test bc I’m not at my computer rn)

Sorry, I guess the static picture isnt super clear unless you already know how it works-- heres a gif! The tuning slider goes from -100 to 100 in value, the value in question being cents. takes every pitch-related parameter along with it.

Oh, that’s neat. I notice that it retunes all notes in the GIF. Does that apply to individual notes?

Yep, it applies to whatever notes are in your selection like most other edits taken place in Note Properties! So you can go one by one and apply different tunings to different notes, or section by section, or to the whole project, anything you can select.

That’s neat. I’ll try to search for automatic tuning based on a tuning file another day, and use this feature for my current project.

I updated to the latest beta, and now the vocal synths are missing. It turns out that, despite I installed OpenUTAU on the D:\ drive, it used C:\Users\Haley\Documents\OpenUTAU as the data folder. How do I fix it?

How did you upgrade? in app or via a new download? If it was a new download, it sounds like you used the .exe/installer. The installer will always install on C: drive and make that data folder, instead of being self-contained. To avoid this, you can either update your stable copy directly by going to Preferences > Advanced and toggling beta, then checking for an update from Help > Check for Update.

If your OpenUtau was on D:\ before, you had the portable version. There is no situation I can think of where your old self contained data folder was overwritten, so opening the original .exe in the original location you placed your old copy should still be fine.
