Searched the internet and could not find anything which could indicate away or another (related to imagick for PHP 8.5).

1. I'm the maintainer of the install-php-extensions script
2. I'm not the maintainer if the imagick PHP extension (or any other extension)
3. If install-php-extensions fails to install an extension (like imagick for PHP 8.5), it means that
   1. I'm waiting for the extension's maintainers to release a compatible version. My script can only install what they make available.
   2. or I'm not aware that there's a easy way to fix the installation of that extension

Regarding your question about the project being "dead":

I am currently spending tens of hours per month maintaining and significantly upgrading install-php-extensions.
This is done with minimal external support (around $11/month in donations).

Given this context, I would greatly appreciate it if users approached issues with a proactive mindset - for example by providing specific errors: "I've tried to install imagick on PHP 8.5 but I received the error XXX."
This is a more effective way to contribute and help the project.

As I knew my question is still vague and not an issue for this project, I added it as discussion topic and not an actual issue.

And sorry, by "project being dead" I was thinking the imagick (php) project 🤦‍♂️

What I get is that you (this project) is waiting for PHP 8.5 compatible version of imagick? Can this be seen somewhere? Where do you track this extension?

I'd ask there if there are plans to make the extension compatible with PHP 8.5.

@back-2-95 the imagick maintainers have just published a new version that supports PHP 8.5, you should be sble to install it now.
