No icons main and about window. But General Preference and tray has icons. Files present in icons theme.

is jd_new name of the theme? how it's configured? how should program know to look in that dir?

/usr/share/icons/ ~/.icons standart path fot icons themes. Non custom Papirus theme the same

Maybe the icon cache is stale? sudo update-icon-caches /usr/share/icons/* , or whatever lubuntu uses

No. Several different systems. About the program lost its icon a long time ago. This is a screenshot of Ubuntu 22.04 with LXQT 0.17.0, the icon theme is the same. It might be related to the LXQT 0.17.0 -> 2.3.0 update (the tray icon changed), but other programs retained their icons.
