Thanks. The tricky part is that include_tags and exclude_tags already use glob patterns. Adding regexes alongside them could make it confusing which syntax applies where and how the filters interact. I’m still thinking through how to design this without making the configuration harder to understand. |

What i imagined was that `include_tags`/`exclude_tags` and `tag_pattern` would be exclusive (cannot be set together).

Currently you can define include and exclude glob rules with
update.include_tagsandupdate.exclude_tags.But glob patterns are very restrictive, it would be great to be able to define a regex matching pattern, with a new keyword
update.tag_pattern, the updated tags need to match this pattern.For instance to include only 'major.minor.patch' tags:
