So, today is Tuesday, July 14th, and this is your monthly Sig community. My name is Joe, otherwise known as Alen, and I am Akash's community manager. And so, here we are going to do talk all things community. I've got some updates for you, some not as good, but we're going to work through it together. let me move on my slides here. So the first thing I want to start is the updates for Akash club. So just as a reminder Akash club is just the name of my community initiatives because I see us all as being part of the club. And so that's for anyone new out here. + +Joe Deng: And so new changes that we've done is that we've started to organize around linear which is a project management tool that I have been using to get everything under control because it's starting to sprawl out with a lot of initiatives and a lot of things that we have to keep tabs on. So if any of you are interested either are here or on here on the call or listening later on in joining our linear project, please hit me up on Discord and I would love to add you. And within the linear you will find the projects that we're working on and bounties that we have outstanding as well as any grants or requests like that that we're working with. + +Joe Deng: And so how that works is whenever traditionally I encourage everybody to come to me with project ideas whether or not you want to start up your own template or do any contributions that you want to bring to the network. once you speak to me about it and we kind of get around to approving it, that's when it'll become a project that we'll track on linear. And then if any bounties in general that come about, I got to say that it's a little sparse at the moment as we're ramping up, but my hope is that we'll be able to put requests on there as well. So for those of you that want to be active and want to look for bounty opportunities, that is where the bounty board is going to live in the future and in the present. + +Joe Deng: And then lastly for any grants and we'll talk about some of the grant requests that are coming through. anything that we pass it will also be managed from this linear project and so just hoping to get everything together in one place so that it's not everywhere at once and I can pay attention to it more intimately. so I'd like to talk a little bit about the projects that we're attempting at the current time. So the first is going to be Akash's AEO. So there is a project being run by the community at the moment to refurbish Akash's content to be more AEO friendly. And so for those who don't know what AEO is, it is a answer engine optimization. It's kind of like search engine optimization but for chat GPT and claude and grok. + +Joe Deng: So when someone asks us where is the best place to rent out some compute, we would ideally grok to talk about Akash and more so than others. And so part of the effort is to go ahead and give the right type of content in the way that they like it so that we can help bring more exposure to Akash. And so if you're interested in helping us out there, there are going to be some opportunities to help us automate content. If you're interested in working with agents and tuning those type of things, that's what we're doing out there in this project. + +Joe Deng: You will see new things come soon like a new blog where we will be posting pretty heavily hopefully pretty regularly too on subjects surrounding around infrastructure around GPU rentals around anything that we find interesting including the benchmarks for GLM more benchmarks for the next new models. So that is coming soon. another project that we're doing is for a initiative for short form content. And so that project is more about making shorts that kind of explain what we do in a easy to understand way. + + +### 00:15:00 + +Joe Deng: As much as a lot of us love to geek out on Discord or to be very cryptoheavy on Twitter or X, there is out there an extreme amount of people that have never heard of Akash and doesn't really know how they can utilize it. I'm personally especially excited to reach out to those that might use Claw to vibe code different things but don't know where to put them. And I personally made a video on how to put your artifacts directly from claude onto Akos and then even using work to go ahead and make that happen. but the idea is to reach out to people that are outside of our immediate circle and give the short form content to convince them to educate them to introduce them to all the things that we do here in regards to the features of Akash as well as what we do within the community. + +Joe Deng: If people want to join the mission, love to have more content to talk about the mission. And just for those that don't know, the mission should be permissionless compute and having the ability to safeguard people's access to compute everywhere at all times. So that is what that project is about. currently being spearheaded by our student ambassadors who are doing great work in right now summer, so students are not exactly in school or in session, but they're still contributing and they're making shorts for us. And that has inspired me to open it up to more than just student ambassadors and let others in the community participate if they wish to do highly encourage the more people that we can get doing it without basically going into AI generated content would be very very nice. + +Joe Deng: I think that that would make our content extra special because it's touched by human hands, So, any interest in that that's happening right now along and I've tried to make it super easy for those that want to participate. There's a list of formats that you can look at and it'll give you a framework on how to produce this content so you don't have to think of it all on your own. I'll give you a sample example might be comparing things or what I can deploy with $5 on a different challenges like that that we can produce short content on, I think would really help us push the message across. So when someone says where is the best place to get compute we hope that they're going to say Akos right and then the second project that I talked about was short form content and here we are it's being currently spearheaded by the Akos student contributors who are in their summer break but they're still producing content at the moment. + +Joe Deng: So the purpose of the short form content is really to reach out to those that might not know heavily about the technicalities of a kosh and introduce them because there's a whole world out there of people who are vi coding websites and other applications on claw and they can and they should deploy that so the short form content is aimed at reaching out to those 100% newbies who don't know what we know and we're going to try to convince them to come on board and then I was going to talk about the last project that is currently up in linear which is our supply and demand project which is going to be the initiative where we are currently looking for supply and demand because we're a marketplace. So on the supply side we are on the hunt for new data centers or data centers that might have excess compute. So we are always looking to expand the amount of GPUs that are available on Akash. + + +### 00:20:00 + +Joe Deng: So if some of you guys are deployers, you might notice that there's measly picking sometimes as our demand has skyrocketed up and so we are definitely looking to increase the supply that is going to be onboarded onto Akos. So I'm talking with data centers every day and these data centers are part of the community effort because the community are the contributors of this project are those that are actually setting me up with these contacts and helping me track down where the newest supply are and hopefully making some deals happen on the whole Akash's behalf. And on the demand side, we are looking for people to come and assist us with looking for new AI companies, AI startups that are of course always strapped for cash. + +Joe Deng: everyone has a limited runway and so we're looking for those types of customers that we can approach and maybe we can hook them up with some good old Akash ML access or perhaps even some trial credits to get started on deploying their own models to Akos whatever it is it depends on what type of startup that you find and so we are for help in looking for both the data centers as well as AI startups so if that interests you to go and take a look at that. I welcome you to join the project. And then lastly, we still bring your own contributions. This is the old style of bounties that we I invite you to come up to me and let me know what you're working on and we can craft a specific bounty for you. + +Joe Deng: We have open project which is a project management system that recently got passed on to the console templates so you can deploy it now and we are coming out with a whole slew of content that goes with it. So from now forward whenever we do a template that's going to be on console I think we used to pay a bounty just for the template but I have changed the requirements after these days we're going to do the template but we're also going to do a quick start guide so we can help influence people if they see your template we want them to get a little bit of an advertisement of why you should deploy it right so we're not just adding templates on templates + +Joe Deng: on the console, but we're adding templates with a reason and we want to state that reason and it'll give us an opportunity to also talk about some of the templates. So, for example, Rodri is working on this open project template and with it is going to be a quick start guide and we're probably going to do some kind of video content as well with it so that we can all so not just have the template but advertise that template out so that people would actually use it. template is only as good as users are willing to use it and deploy. And it doesn't really help us if we have a million templates, but nobody knows where to find it, why they should deploy, one thing or another. And so this is our attempt to try to make it easier and more approachable by everybody involved. So that's something that you can look forward to. + +Joe Deng: And then Aoritus, I think that's how you pronounce his name, submitted a paperclip, which is an agent orchestration template onto Akash. And him and I are working on the content portion of it and so that's just the update on that But if you already are working with Hermes and other agents, then you might know what paperclip is. And already the template itself is ready to go but the quick start guide is on the way and so that's all the updates I have for what the club is up to and so this is the good news now let's go on to some not as good news a different set of news which is our community apps want to provide a short update on it so Akash agents was a platform that you can easily deploy agents by just bringing in your console API + +Joe Deng: and your AkashML API and have it all set up for That service is already live and you can use it. It's currently at network and we're going to look to migrate it to agent.akash.club because we want to have that differentiation and originally we were going to make a managed service and this goes with Akash scribe as well. We were looking to make a managed service of both of these applications but after second thought after thinking about it working through it we have decided to pivot and so Akash agents is going to remain to bring your own key service where we will continue to update it with new agents that are interesting for you to deploy easily on Akash but we will not be making a managed service around it. + + +### 00:25:00 + +Joe Deng: it will remain to be bring your own key so long as you have your Akash console API and your Akash ML API you'll be able to deploy some of the newest agents and we'll continue to update that and then we'll also continue to put up guides being use case guides because a lot of times if you are really technical you probably have your agent already installed on your own personal computer and you're giving it passwordless pseudo and having it do many things for you and on your behalf but for those of us that maybe not as technical and maybe has not yet touched agents, we would love to be providing more use case guides, currently the only use case guide that we have is from contributor Sandeep who made an agent to remind his father when to take his medicine and also when to eat. + +Joe Deng: his father is a farm owner and so he's always out in the field and sometimes he is neglectful of his own health and this agent tracks that and if he doesn't report back to the agent the agent kind of rats him out and tells Sandeep and Sandeep can then physically give his dad a call and it's all to try to keep family members healthy. So use cases like this make for great guides and it gives ideas to people outside of our community in our community it doesn't matter gives them some idea and some incentive to then bring your own key platform for Akashcribe is a dictation application. It's fully built. It is powered by our contributor Rodri who has completely finished the project. However, we really were me meaning to bring this project to life in order to be one of the first demand generators for Akash ML's speech to attack. + +Joe Deng: X models and unfortunately the ST models on AkashML has been currently depprioritized and so they will not be released for we don't know when I'm hoping within a quarter they can get back on the horse but currently Akash ML is busy working with performance improvements in order to try to be the best provider on open router and so their attention currently has been rediverted from the original plan to have these models to do something else and so because of that there is really no way for us to continue with our community project and we are going to shove that for now and then once AosML does support ST models which is still on + +Joe Deng: the road map. whenever that happens, we will probably bring this back to life and make it a bio service just like the agents platform where you can download the app, put in your akash key, and then off you go. You've got yourself a fully pay as you go transcription application. so I think most transcription applications on the marketplace right now is going to be pay per month. So maybe $5 a month, $8 a month, $12 a month. Actually, no, it's definitely 128 to$12 a month. but with Akash ML's tokens, I believe we can definitely break that down and if you don't use it this month, then you don't have to pay. And so we think that that is going to be a really neat application to release under our community projects. And so that will continue whenever ST arrives on AOSML. All right, any questions? And this will be a super test of how well passage can operate. + +Joe Deng: operate on Akash and so the more people to come the more GPUs we rent. So I hope that you guys are up for it and then we can make this work. but no promises yet because we're still in production in terms of making this thing and of course it depends if all the GPUs are rented out to paying clients then there might not be left any for us to host this large event. I hope that doesn't happen like that but we will see and I will keep you updated as we get closer and closer to October. and so this is the main hall. So you can see that it is made to do three things. I hope to host meetups there so that we can meet in the virtual world and just have a virtual coffee and whatnot. so in this next place so on the top here we have a stage where I'm hoping that we can host our aos accelerate. As you can see it's just a bunch of polygons right now. I promise you it'll look better before we release it. And then on the bottom here is a showcase of these private rooms. + +Joe Deng: So the idea is that as long as you put your physical game body into one of these sections, then only the people within that section can hear you. So this is how we're going to do our breakout rooms. So when we're chatting or networking, then we can have private conversations even though everybody is in the same room. And so these are some of the ideas that we're playing with in our not integration a passage is already integrated but our akos passage space that's really what I meant to say so this is going to be the physical embodiment of Akash club and so I hope that you guys would be free to jump in for some of our live events for the community all right and then last two slides so this is pretty much the end of it I want to give another shout out to our GitHub discussions so GitHub discussions is where a + +Joe Deng: all of the external parties come to talk with the Akash community which means you guys and so I encourage you all to post your opinions and post your thoughts onto the Akash GitHub discussions because you guys are going to be the representatives of Akash. I could definitely put something some words in but it'll be great to hear from the rest of the community. and so I'm just going to give a quick overview of what new updates have happened since the last time we talked about GitHub discussions. And first is going to be two grant requests. So one is from Zeslow, which is a grant request from our student ambassador in France. + + +### 00:35:00 + +Joe Deng: and he is really into open science and he wants to set up a easy way for scientists in universities to be able to using the CLI quickly deploy what they need for their research on Akash in a quick painless easy way. Obviously, we have a permissionless system. So, it kind of makes it really neat that they don't really need to sign up and sign up for a six month use of a GPU that they are only going to use for a couple of days. and this is a good match here. I think the request is for $3,200. And so, those of you that are inclined, please go ahead and take a look and let us know if this is something that you want to see on Akos. next is going to be the Jinny Launchpad. This is going to be a fully agent automated system, which is designed to launch whatever you need. + +Joe Deng: So if I need a reddis database then the agent is supposed to take my input and then go ahead and launch that for me on a interesting thing about this grant request is that it's not a request to build it out because it is going to be a private organization right it's a request for AKT credits for deployment so they're asking for $500 worth of deployments and yeah it's got a really really unique idea I encourage you guys to check that out as well. Maybe it'll give you an idea on what you can build on Akos and maybe we'll see one of your grant requests soon. Next up is W node which is a interesting concept. It's basically for a verifiable execution layer that is not only of this earth but also orbital space. and so these individuals are I guess in stealth right now. + +Joe Deng: They're about to launch next month in August and they're requesting $20,000 in grant fees or grant funds in order to build out Akash as a user of their system. And once again, your opinions matter here whether or not it's not worth 20,000. This is the stuff that we discuss. then we have an invite from a company to join their AI and crypto expo which is coming next month. sponsorship opportunities. They're running a 10-day event and they would love for Akos to be there to host some hackathons to provide compute credits to those that are going to be joining the expo. check it out. I personally think it might be a good opportunity, but I think that is going to be based on Amanda who is the event coordinator's decision. but your opinions will help her make that decision as well if you have any. + +Joe Deng: And then the last but not least is going to be a benchmark opportunity or I wouldn't call opportunity I guess a benchmark possibility. So a group of people who are looking to do some low latency trading for crypto is now looking to use Akash as a infrastructure provider and they are requesting AKT credits in order to run their tests and in exchange for those grant credits they are going to provide a latency benchmark or report of how well our decentralized systems fare when it comes to utilizing it for their high frequency trades.
