Description
- ICON-Land-1-1 simulates land physics, hydrology, the carbon and nutrient cycles, and land vegetation.
- In concentration-driven simulations, ICON-Land-1-1 uses the JSBACH4 land surface model. In emission-driven simulations, ICON-Land-1-1 using the QUINCY formulation of land dynamics. The two differ in the treatment of the carbon and nutrient cycles and vegetation.
- In both configurations, river discharge uses the HD hydrological discharge model at a 0.5 degrees resolution (h134). This is of completely different heritage, code, and grid structure to the rest of ICON-Land-1-1 (and is not listed separately, because only one "land-surface" model component can be registered).
