"HFlow" and the Hebbian Robotics name and logo are trademarks of Hebbian Robotics PBC. The Apache-2.0 license covers the code -- it grants copyright and patent rights, and (per its section 6) explicitly does not grant permission to use these trade names, trademarks, or logos.
The goal of this policy is the usual one: you can do anything the license allows with the software, while names stay a reliable signal of what comes from this project.
- Make truthful, nominative references: "built on HFlow", "compatible with HFlow", "powered by HFlow", "a plugin for HFlow".
- Redistribute unmodified releases under the HFlow name with notices intact.
- Use
hflowas a dependency, import, or configuration name -- anywhere the software itself requires the name. - Write about, teach, review, or benchmark HFlow using its name.
- Using "HFlow" or the Hebbian Robotics marks in the name, domain, or logo of a product, service, or company -- including a hosted or managed offering of this software. Operating such a service is permitted by the license; branding it with these marks is not. Name it as your own offering ("Acme Pipelines, built on HFlow") rather than as ours.
- Distributing a modified version under the HFlow name. Forks are welcome; give yours its own name and state its lineage.
- Anything that could imply affiliation with, or endorsement by, Hebbian Robotics.
