# Changelog

## [0.58.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.57.3...v0.58.0) (2026-11-02)

### Breaking Changes

#### Removed `Payroll.TransitionFlow`, `Payroll.TransitionPayroll`, and `Payroll.TransitionCreation` ([#3030](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3030))

The API now creates transition payrolls, so the SDK no longer has a creation step. These components are removed along with their props types, `TransitionCreationFormData`, the `Payroll.Transition` and `Payroll.TransitionCreation` translation namespaces, and the `transition/created` event (`componentEvents.TRANSITION_CREATED`).

Render `Payroll.PayrollFlow` to run transition payrolls. It routes them to `Payroll.TransitionConfiguration`, then to `PayrollConfiguration` and the rest of the execution steps.

```tsx
// Before
<Payroll.TransitionFlow
  companyId={companyId}
  startDate={startDate}
  endDate={endDate}
  payScheduleUuid={payScheduleUuid}
  onEvent={onEvent}
/>
// After
<Payroll.PayrollFlow companyId={companyId} onEvent={onEvent} />
```

If you compose the payroll screens yourself, render `Payroll.TransitionConfiguration` with the transition payroll's ID:

```tsx
<Payroll.TransitionConfiguration companyId={companyId} payrollId={payrollId} onEvent={onEvent} />
```

#### `PayrollList` emits `transition/payrollSelected` for transition payrolls ([#3021](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3021))

Clicking a transition payroll row in `PayrollList` no longer emits `runPayroll/selected`. It now emits `transition/payrollSelected` with the same `{ payrollUuid, payPeriod }` payload.

```tsx
// Before
if (eventType === componentEvents.RUN_PAYROLL_SELECTED) {
  // fired for regular and transition payrolls
}
// After
if (eventType === componentEvents.RUN_PAYROLL_SELECTED) {
  // regular payrolls only
}
if (eventType === componentEvents.TRANSITION_PAYROLL_SELECTED) {
  // render Payroll.TransitionConfiguration with data.payrollUuid
}
```

#### Regular rate of pay graduated from `UnstableFeatures` to `Features` ([#3009](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3009))

`GustoProvider` has a new `features` prop for released functionality that is on by default. `UnstableFeatures.payrollRegularRateOfPay` is replaced by `Features.regularRateOfPay`, which defaults to `true`. Only an explicit `false` turns it off. The `@alpha` `disableWorkweekStartDayEditing` prop is removed from `PaySchedule` and `usePayScheduleForm`.

```tsx
// Before: opt in
<GustoProvider config={config} unstableFeatures={{ payrollRegularRateOfPay: true }}>
// After: on by default. To opt out:
<GustoProvider config={config} features={{ regularRateOfPay: false }}>
```

### Features & Enhancements

- `Payroll.TransitionConfiguration` is now public. It updates the settings of an API-created transition payroll and hands off to `PayrollConfiguration` ([#3000](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3000), [#3050](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3050))
- `PayrollFlow` routes transition payrolls to `TransitionConfiguration`, then continues to `PayrollConfiguration` for the same payroll ([#3021](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3021))
- The transition payroll alert lists every open transition payroll, with its own Run and Skip buttons. Run and skip events include the payroll ID. A calculated transition payroll offers Review and submit and emits `payroll/review` ([#3008](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3008), [#3021](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3021))
- The `PaySchedule` workweek start day API is now public ([#3009](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3009))
- Payroll employee editors show approved PTO request hours separately from additional hours entered during payroll. Approved hours are read only. The headless payroll form exposes approved hours so custom editors can show the same split ([#2986](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2986))
- Sort `ContractorManagement.ContractorList` by last name. `TableProps` gains optional `sortDescriptor` and `onSortChange` for sortable columns in custom component adapters ([#2997](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2997))
- Add `getOptionDescription` to `RadioGroupHookField` for per-option descriptions ([#2996](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2996))

### Fixes

- Prevent a fast double-click from submitting a composed form twice, which could create duplicate records such as a second job ([#3028](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3028))
- Create dismissal payroll for the selected employee when two dismissed employees share a pay period ([#3024](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3024))
- Default off-cycle payroll withholding to the company's pay schedule frequency instead of always every other week ([#3040](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3040))
- Show the correct compensation type (for example "Salary/Eligible for overtime") on the single-job `Compensation` card ([#3042](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3042))
- Show the compensation type for salaried employees in the payroll overview's Hours worked table ([#3031](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3031))
- Show estimated total pay instead of $0.00 when the API leaves out gross pay ([#3025](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3025))
- Stop a pay schedule with a `null` custom name from failing the whole pay schedule list ([#3049](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3049))
- Let "View checks" submit after switching print check stock types with a cleared starting number ([#3032](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3032))
- Remove the misleading Totals row from the payroll receipt's tax table. Lines like SDI and Paid Family Leave are not part of the tax debit, which the Debited section still shows ([#3027](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3027))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump runtime dependencies (`i18next`, `react-i18next`) ([#3018](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3018), [#3020](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3020))
- Bump dev dependencies (`@microsoft/api-extractor`, `@mswjs/interceptors`, Storybook addons, `typescript-eslint`, `sass-embedded`, `pixelmatch`) ([#3044](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3044), [#3036](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3036), [#3045](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3045), [#3035](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3035), [#3034](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3034), [#3033](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3033), [#3047](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3047), [#3037](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3037), [#3043](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3043), [#3019](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3019))

## [0.57.3](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.57.2...v0.57.3) (2026-10-27)

### Features & Enhancements

- Add department- and employee-level pay schedule assignment to the in-development `CompanyManagement.PaySchedule` flow. Released as `@alpha` behind the existing `managePaySchedules` flag in `UnstableFeatures` ([#2949](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2949), [#2956](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2956))

### Fixes

- Include reimbursements in the Total pay column shown before payroll calculation ([#3010](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3010))
- Preserve pay schedule assignment selections when navigating back and forth between steps ([#2948](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2948))
- Include the visible filter text, not just the icon label, in the date filter trigger's accessible name ([#2985](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2985))
- Reduce redundant API calls on the contractor/employee self-onboarding `Landing` screen ([#2989](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2989))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump `@gusto/embedded-api` from `0.3.1` to `0.3.2` ([#2988](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2988))
- Bump `@hookform/resolvers` from `5.9.1` to `6.0.0` ([#2979](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2979))
- Bump runtime dependencies (`i18next`, `react-i18next`, `react-hook-form`) ([#2983](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2983), [#3003](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3003), [#2993](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2993), [#3004](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3004), [#3015](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3015), [#3014](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/3014))
- Bump dev dependencies (`storybook`, `typescript-eslint`, `dotenv`, `sass-embedded`, `vite`, `globals`, `@storybook/addon-onboarding`, docs site `vitest`, `postcss-selector-parser`, docs site `qs`)

## [0.57.2](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.57.1...v0.57.2) (2026-10-22)

### Fixes

- Fix off-cycle and transition payroll dates being sent one day early for users in timezones ahead of UTC. Dates picked in `OffCycleCreation` and `TransitionCreation` are now sent exactly as picked ([#2976](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2976))
- Fix the cancel payroll dialog crashing with `RangeError: timeZone is not supported` when the host app polyfills `Intl.DateTimeFormat`. The deadline in `PayrollOverview` and `PayrollHistory` now uses the SDK locale, and translations can place `{{time}}` and `{{date}}` separately. Existing `{{deadline}}` overrides keep working ([#2968](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2968))
- Align the pay schedule management forms with design, including a "Run payroll by" deadline and a description for the first pay period end date ([#2947](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2947))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump runtime dependencies (`i18next`, `react-i18next`) ([#2971](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2971), [#2972](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2972))
- Bump dev dependencies (`@playwright/test`, `@commitlint/cli`, `@storybook/addon-a11y`, `smol-toml`, docs site `launch-editor`)

## [0.57.1](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.57.0...v0.57.1) (2026-10-21)

### Features & Enhancements

- Add `Payroll.TaxPaymentsFlow`, a tax payments hub with a payment list and detail view built on the tax payments endpoints. Released as `@alpha` behind the new `taxPayments` flag in `UnstableFeatures` ([#2872](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2872))
- Show a recoverable screen instead of a hard error when a payroll is no longer calculated, so the payroll can be recalculated in place ([#2955](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2955))

### Fixes

- Fix Payroll History crashing for a company when the API returns an off-cycle reason outside the documented enum (e.g. `Max out 401k`, `Other`) — those payrolls now render as generic off-cycle payrolls instead of failing response validation for the whole list ([#2919](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2919))
- Fix "Payroll is not calculated" being thrown for processed payrolls that never run the calculate step — wage corrections, reversals, disability distributions, external payrolls, and tax reconciliations are now viewable ([#2922](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2922))
- Block the exponent characters `e` / `E` in numeric `Input` fields. The DOM coerced a lone `e` to an empty string, so the value was silently dropped on save and the field reverted with no error. Sign keys (`+` / `-`) are unaffected ([#2847](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2847))
- Only offer the cancel action on payrolls the API will actually accept for cancellation, instead of surfacing a cancel that fails server-side ([#2936](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2936))
- Validate generated check URLs in `PrintChecksForm` before opening them ([#2937](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2937))
- Show server-side field errors on `StateTaxesForm`, including value errors from every requirement set ([#2917](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2917))
- Keep workweek inputs usable in Run Regular Payroll when a pay period has many workweek columns — inputs now have a fixed column width and the workweek tables scroll horizontally, instead of being crushed beside their adornments ([#2939](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2939))
- Label `DataCards` footer values with their column titles when footers are keyed by column key (e.g. `PayrollOverview` totals), which previously rendered as bare values ([#2933](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2933))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump runtime dependencies (`i18next`, `react-hook-form`, `robot3`, `dompurify`) ([#2929](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2929), [#2945](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2945), [#2931](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2931), [#2961](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2961), [#2927](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2927))
- Bump dev dependencies (`vitest`, `typescript-eslint`, `prettier`, `sass-embedded`, `cspell`, `lint-staged`, `@microsoft/api-extractor`, `@testing-library/user-event`, Storybook packages, Playwright accessibility tooling)

## [0.57.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.7...v0.57.0) (2026-10-15)

### ⚠ BREAKING CHANGES

- `customErrorSanitizer` and `customMetricSanitizer` (via `ObservabilityProvider`'s `sanitization` config) now run **inside** the SDK's own redaction instead of replacing it — your function receives already-redacted input, and its output is redacted again before being forwarded. Raw errors are stripped unless `includeRawError: true`, even if your sanitizer re-adds them, and this applies independently of `enabled: false`. Built-in sensitive-key coverage has also expanded ([#2908](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2908))

  ```tsx
  // Before — sanitizer output was forwarded as-is, so returning the raw
  // error bypassed SDK redaction entirely.
  sanitization={{
    customErrorSanitizer: (error) => ({ ...error, raw: originalError }),
  }}
  // After — raw is stripped again after your sanitizer runs unless you opt in.
  sanitization={{
    includeRawError: true,
    customErrorSanitizer: (error) => ({ ...error, raw: originalError }),
  }}
  ```

### Features & Enhancements

- Add support for assignment by compensation type ([#2881](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2881))

### Fixes

- Fix external payrolls incorrectly appearing in the payroll list and history ([#2909](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2909))
- `@gusto/embedded-api` queries and mutations now run regardless of network state, instead of silently stalling when the browser reports itself offline ([#2895](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2895))
- Trim whitespace from name fields and clarify the invalid-name error copy ([#2896](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2896))
- Fix payroll employee edit defaults being skipped for employees with a `constructor`, `toString`, or other inherited `Object.prototype` key as their UUID ([#2900](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2900))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`@internationalized/number`, `@playwright/test`, `@storybook/addon-a11y`, `@storybook/addon-onboarding`, `axe-core`, `cspell`, `eslint-plugin-tsdoc`, `vite`, `vite-plugin-dts`) ([#2907](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2907), [#2905](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2905), [#2912](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2912), [#2903](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2903), [#2914](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2914), [#2851](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2851), [#2904](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2904), [#2915](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2915), [#2913](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2913))
- Bump `msw` to 3.0.3 ([#2916](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2916))
- Bump `katex` in `/docs-site` ([#2891](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2891))

## [0.56.7](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.6...v0.56.7) (2026-10-13)

### Fixes

- Fix employees going missing from the payroll configuration screen when the API returns a deduction amount as a decimal string rather than a number. Prepare-payroll failures now surface as errors instead of silently rendering an incomplete employee list ([#2890](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2890))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump `dompurify` to 3.4.16 ([#2888](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2888))
- Bump dev dependencies (`prettier`, `typescript-eslint`, `sass-embedded`, `dotenv`) ([#2852](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2852), [#2853](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2853), [#2854](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2854), [#2855](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2855))
- Bump transitive dependencies for security advisories (`axios`, `brace-expansion`, `markdown-it`, `shell-quote`, `undici`, `qs`, `ip-address`, and others) ([#2857](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2857), [#2858](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2858), [#2888](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2888), [#2889](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2889))

## [0.56.6](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.5...v0.56.6) (2026-10-12)

### Features & Enhancements

- Add the alpha `AutoPilotDialog` to `CompanyManagement.PaySchedule`'s overview, letting a company toggle AutoPilot for its pay schedule and see any blocking eligibility issues inline. Gated behind the `managePaySchedules` unstable feature flag ([#2871](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2871))
- Add `isSelfOnboardingEnabled` and `withEmployeeI9` props to `EmployeeListFlow`, matching the options already available on the standalone onboarding flow ([#2885](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2885))

### Fixes

- Stop stale alerts from persisting across payroll run screens after transitioning between states ([#2879](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2879))
- Stop stale alerts from reappearing in the contractor payment information-request round-trip and on the wire-confirmation screen ([#2882](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2882))

## [0.56.5](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.4...v0.56.5) (2026-10-07)

### Features & Enhancements

- Add a standalone `Dismissal` component (via `useDismissal`) for scheduling a contractor's dismissal date. `ContractorListFlow`'s "Dismiss contractor" action now opens this flow instead of only emitting an event ([#2862](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2862))
- Add an optional `DocumentEmbed` override to `ComponentsContext`, letting you replace the SDK's default PDF rendering — useful if your Content Security Policy can't allow `object-src`. Falls back to the existing rendering when no override is supplied ([#2876](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2876))

### Fixes

- Show the receipt ID and the correct recipient name on the contractor payment receipt, sourced from the receipt payload itself ([#2867](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2867))
- Cap payroll hours (99999) and reimbursement amounts (1,000,000) client-side to match server limits, so an out-of-range value is caught before submit instead of failing with a 422 ([#2870](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2870))
- Allow breadcrumb navigation from the receipts screen back to overview, instead of silently no-opping ([#2878](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2878))

## [0.56.4](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.3...v0.56.4) (2026-10-02)

### Fixes

- Keep the required-field asterisk out of the field's accessible name, so screen readers no longer announce it as part of the label ([#2865](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2865))

## [0.56.3](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.2...v0.56.3) (2026-10-01)

### Features & Enhancements

- Mark required form fields with an asterisk (`*`) instead of appending an `(optional)` suffix to non-required fields. The asterisk is CSS-generated, so each field's accessible name is unchanged ([#2770](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2770))
- Add the alpha `CompanyManagement.PaySchedule` component with `PayScheduleOverview`, surfacing a company's pay schedule name, frequency, and AutoPilot status. Gated behind the `managePaySchedules` unstable feature flag ([#2746](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2746))
- Add the alpha `CompanyManagement.PayScheduleAssignment`, a standalone flow for assigning a single pay schedule (type selector, schedule picker with inline creation, and a review-and-submit step) that can be mounted directly or launched from `PayScheduleOverview` ([#2762](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2762))

### Fixes

- Update the bundled `@gusto/embedded-api` client to stable `0.3.1` ([#2863](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2863))
- Handle Gusto-created tax reconciliation payrolls, which have no pay period and previously crashed `PayrollOverview` and left blank dates in `PayrollHistory` ([#2859](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2859))
- Prepare transition payrolls without sending an employee roster, which the API rejects for a transition payroll ([#2850](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2850))
- Disable transition payroll actions while a payroll blocker exists ([#2848](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2848))
- Strip leading zeros from payroll number inputs ([#2831](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2831))
- Stop the RFI payroll-blocker screen from crashing on unauthorized or unknown data ([#2833](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2833))
- Fix the Calculate button loading state in the gross-up modal ([#2718](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2718))
- Hide pagination page-size options that would render identically to a smaller one ([#2856](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2856))
- Show a friendly message for incomplete state tax requirement sets ([#2829](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2829))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`typescript-eslint`, `dotenv`)
- Apply grouped Dependabot security updates ([#2837](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2837), [#2838](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2838))

## [0.56.2](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.1...v0.56.2) (2026-09-25)

### Fixes

- Preserve edited hours when saving from the legacy `PayrollEditEmployee` editor by omitting stale per-workweek breakdowns from the update, so the hours you enter are the ones that persist ([#2839](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2839))
- Clarify the overtime premium alert copy in `UNSTABLE_PayrollEditEmployee` to explain which earnings affect the overtime premium and that earnings for other periods belong on a separate off-cycle payroll ([#2795](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2795))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`@commitlint/cli`, `react-error-boundary`, `tsx`, `vite-plugin-dts`)

## [0.56.1](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.56.0...v0.56.1) (2026-09-22)

### Features & Enhancements

- Add `Payroll.TransitionPayroll`, a standalone block that resolves an existing transition payroll for a pay-schedule change (or creates one) and can be composed directly, and rework `Payroll.TransitionFlow` to build on it. `TransitionFlow` keeps its optional `payrollUuid` prop, and the `runPayroll/employee/edit` event now includes `payrollId`. ([#2822](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2822))

### Fixes

- Handle the `partner_tos_not_accepted` payroll blocker so it surfaces correctly instead of failing on an unrecognized enum value ([#2825](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2825))
- Submit `0` for a previously-loaded workweek cell that is cleared, so clearing a loaded value now persists instead of being dropped ([#2817](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2817))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Sync translations from Lokalise ([#2800](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2800))
- Bump dev dependencies (`dotenv`, `release-it`)

## [0.56.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.55.8...v0.56.0) (2026-09-21)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **The default portal container for SDK overlays (`Select`, `ComboBox`, `Menu`, `DatePicker`, `MultiSelectComboBox`) is no longer the SDK's in-place root element — it's now a dedicated root appended to `document.body`** ([#2808](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2808)). This fixes overlays collapsing (`max-height: 0`) when a host page puts `position`, `transform`, `filter`, or `contain` on any ancestor between the SDK root and the viewport. Three things to check:

  - If you have CSS descendant selectors scoped to the SDK root that expect overlay content to render in-place (e.g. `.your-scope .GSDK [role="listbox"]`), they'll no longer match. Pass an explicit `portalContainer` to `GustoProvider` to restore in-place rendering:

    ```diff
     <GustoProvider
    -  config={config}
    +  config={config}
    +  portalContainer={myContainerRef.current}
     >
    ```

  - If you render the SDK inside a shadow root, `portalContainer` is now **required** — `document.body` sits outside every shadow boundary, so without one, overlays escape your shadow root's style encapsulation entirely.
  - The new default portal root carries both the `GSDK` and `GSDK-portal-root` classes. If you have a global `.GSDK { ... }` override on the host page, it now also reaches the portal root — scope it to `.GSDK:not(.GSDK-portal-root)` if that's not intended.

  See the [theming guide](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/blob/main/docs/guides/theming.md) for details.

## [0.54.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.53.0...v0.54.0) (2026-08-06)

### Features & Enhancements

- Added contractor management components under the `ContractorManagement` namespace, each with a read-only card and an edit form: `ContractorManagement.Profile`, `ContractorManagement.Address`, `ContractorManagement.PaymentMethod`, `ContractorManagement.Compensation`, and `ContractorManagement.DocumentsCard`. ([#2469](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2469), [#2470](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2470), [#2474](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2474), [#2475](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2475), [#2476](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2476))
- Added a contractor dashboard — `ContractorManagement.Dashboard` and the orchestrated `ContractorManagement.DashboardFlow` — providing a tabbed overview that ties the contractor management surfaces together. ([#2477](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2477))
- Added components for recording historical (off-platform) contractor payments: `ContractorManagement.HistoricalPaymentContractors` for selecting which contractors to include, and `ContractorManagement.HistoricalPaymentAmounts` for entering their amounts. ([#2500](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2500), [#2511](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2511))
- Hook-based components now honor a custom `LoaderComponent`, so your loading UI renders consistently across them. ([#2493](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2493))

### Fixes

- Onboarding blocks (`Compensation`, `Deductions`, and `DocumentSigner`) no longer become unresponsive after their step-completion event fires. Previously, once a block signaled "done" it entered a terminal state, so its "Edit" and "Add another" actions silently stopped working until you navigated away from the block and back. ([#2522](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2522))
- Fixed the W-9 TIN section copy in contractor onboarding to correctly reflect whether the contractor is an individual or a business. ([#2479](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2479))
- `PayrollOverview` no longer throws when its `calculatedAt` value is momentarily stale right after a payroll is calculated. ([#2501](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2501))
- Payroll landing and list views now stretch their columns to fill the available width instead of leaving unused horizontal space. ([#2523](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2523))
- The `EmployeeList` row actions menu is now hidden for dismissed employees. ([#2480](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2480))
- Company locations queries are now cached, avoiding a refetch on every mount. ([#2471](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2471))
- Removed the "unprocessed" payroll status badge. ([#2426](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2426))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Clarified the project license as Apache 2.0. ([#2519](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2519))
- Bump runtime dependencies (`react-hook-form`, `react-router-dom`, `@hookform/resolvers`, `@internationalized/date`).
- Bump dev and build dependencies (`storybook` and its addons, `@playwright/test`, `release-it`, `@release-it/conventional-changelog`, `@vitejs/plugin-react-swc`, `vite-plugin-checker`, `lint-staged`, `@testing-library/jest-dom`, `jest-axe`, `@types/react`, `@types/react-dom`, `postcss`, `webpack-dev-server`, and related tooling).

## [0.53.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.52.2...v0.53.0) (2026-07-24)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **`BoxProps.children` is now optional** ([#2427](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2427)). If you have a custom `Box` adapter with `children` typed as required, update it to accept `undefined`:

  ```diff
   interface BoxProps {
  -  children: ReactNode
  +  children?: ReactNode
   }
  ```

  Runtime behavior is unchanged — React renders nothing when `children` is `undefined`.

### Features & Enhancements

- `StateTaxes` gained a "Manage tax rates" view showing each state's effective-dated rate history (current, scheduled, and historical), with the ability to schedule a new rate for a future effective date. ([#2462](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2462))
- `GustoProvider` and `GustoProviderCustomUIAdapter` accept a new `nonce` prop for partners with a strict `style-src 'nonce-…'` Content Security Policy, so the SDK's runtime-injected styles no longer require `unsafe-inline`. The nonce is also exposed to custom UI components via a new `useNonce` hook. ([#2191](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2191))
- `PaymentMethod` onboarding now shows the bank account form inline when Direct Deposit is selected, instead of requiring an extra click to reveal it. ([#2420](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2420))
- Added `ContractorManagement.ContractorList`, a tabbed (Active/Onboarding/Dismissed) contractor list for management flows with view, dismiss, rehire, and cancel-dismissal/cancel-rehire actions. ([#2443](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2443))

### Fixes

- Fixed off-by-one date bugs across `DatePicker` defaults and date serialization, where dates near a timezone boundary could display or submit one day off. ([#2430](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2430))
- Fixed an off-by-one bug in `StateTaxes`' effective date display. ([#2429](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2429))
- The "Continue" button in `PaymentMethod` onboarding is now disabled when Direct Deposit is selected but no bank account has been added yet. ([#2419](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2419))
- Field-level errors returned by the API are now cleared as soon as the user edits the field, instead of persisting until the next submit. ([#2415](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2415))
- `BankAccount`, `DocumentSigner`, and `PaySchedule` no longer get stuck read-only after their "done" event fires — they remain editable, matching `StateTaxes`. ([#2428](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2428))
- `PayrollList` filters now apply and display a sensible default date range instead of an empty one. ([#2441](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2441))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`storybook` and its addons, `typescript-eslint`, `@typescript-eslint/rule-tester`, `@microsoft/api-extractor`, `prettier`, `markdownlint-cli2`, `eslint-plugin-storybook`, `axios`)
- Bump dependencies (`react-i18next`, `react-hook-form`, `js-yaml`, `shell-quote`)

## [0.52.2](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.52.1...v0.52.2) (2026-07-17)

### Features & Enhancements

- The contractor W-9 signature form now shows an on-file SSN/EIN as a masked, disabled field with a "Change SSN"/"Change EIN" button, rather than exposing it as an editable value. ([#2406](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2406))
- While a contractor is mid self-onboarding, the admin's contractor list menu no longer offers "Edit" — only "Cancel self-onboarding" and "Delete" — so the admin must cancel self-onboarding to regain edit access. ([#2407](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2407))
- Admins editing a contractor's profile or address now see a warning when the contractor already has a signed W-9 on file, since the edit will require collecting an updated, signed W-9. ([#2394](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2394))

### Fixes

- Fix `StateTaxes` getting stuck on the list view after clicking "Continue" — state rows are now still editable afterward instead of becoming permanently inert. ([#2416](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2416))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`@typescript-eslint/parser`, `typescript-eslint`, `eslint-plugin-storybook`, `fuse.js`, `tsx`)

## [0.52.1](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.52.0...v0.52.1) (2026-07-14)

### Features & Enhancements

- Contractor self-onboarding now mirrors the employee self-onboarding experience, giving contractors a guided flow to complete their own profile, address, and signature steps. ([#2385](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2385))
- The Contractor `Submit` step now lets contractors download their signed W-9. ([#2392](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2392))

### Fixes

- The contractor new hire report is now only triggered during the initial onboarding pass, so re-editing an already-onboarded contractor no longer re-files the report. ([#2386](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2386))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`storybook` and its addons to 10.5.0, `eslint`, `@eslint/js`, `@typescript-eslint/rule-tester`, `@typescript-eslint/utils`)
- Bump dependencies (`dompurify`)

## [0.52.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.51.2...v0.52.0) (2026-07-10)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **`@gusto/embedded-api` is now pinned to the dated `v2026-06-15` package** ([#2371](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2371)). Update your dependency and imports from `@gusto/embedded-api-v-2026-02-01` to `@gusto/embedded-api-v-2026-06-15`.
  - `EmployeeCompensations` money fields (`grossPay`, `netPay`, `checkAmount`) are now `string` instead of `number`.
  - `@gusto/embedded-api/models/components/payroll` was renamed to `@gusto/embedded-api/models/components/payrollshow`.
  - Company tax requirement records now report `setupStatus` instead of `setupComplete`.
  - A few exports were renamed: `WageType` → `ContractorWageType`, `SortOrder` → `QueryParamSortOrder`, `Include` → `GetV1CompaniesCompanyIdEmployeesQueryParamInclude`, `ContractorOnboardingStatus1` → `OnboardingStatus`.
- **`ApiProvider` and `ApiProviderProps` are no longer exported** ([#2376](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2376)). If you composed the provider stack manually, use `GustoProvider` or `GustoProviderCustomUIAdapter` instead — both wrap `ApiProvider` internally.
- **`ObservabilityProvider`, `useObservability`, `ObservabilityProviderProps`, and `ObservabilityContextValue` are no longer exported** ([#2376](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2376)). Configure observability via the `observability` field on the `config` prop passed to `GustoProvider` / `GustoProviderCustomUIAdapter` instead.
- **`GustoApiProps` (the props type for `GustoProvider`) was renamed to `GustoProviderProps`** ([#2376](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2376)). The previous `GustoProviderProps` (props for `GustoProviderCustomUIAdapter`) was renamed to `GustoBaseProviderProps`. Update any direct references to these type names.

### Features & Enhancements

- Added `FormBox`, a UI primitive for grouping form sections, alongside the existing `Box` component. Override it via the component adapter like any other UI primitive. ([#2359](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2359))
- `StateTaxes` and `StateTaxesList` accept a new `showContinueButton` prop (defaults to `true`) to hide the Continue button when either is embedded as a step inside a larger flow with its own navigation. ([#2381](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2381))

### Fixes

- `OnboardingSummary` now shows confirmation copy instead of a "Missing requirements" checklist when an employee has been invited to self-onboard, since those steps are owned by the employee rather than the admin. ([#2369](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2369))
- `Contractor.SignatureForm` now includes the "U.S. person" definition below the W-9 certification checklist. ([#2382](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2382))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`@commitlint/cli`, `msw`, `prettier`, `ws`)
- Bump dependencies (`i18next`, `react-i18next`)

## [0.51.2](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.51.1...v0.51.2) (2026-07-07)

### Fixes

- **Company:** prevent Enter key from cancelling State Taxes and Location edit forms ([#2361](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2361)) ([343c78f](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/commit/343c78f96ce8972cfe40eec992990bd7703411cb))
- **Contractor/DocumentsList:** key signature status off signedAt and guard unpreparable W-9s ([#2362](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2362)) ([8191e91](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/commit/8191e910885613cbb7e754f7227603986f4c8640))

## [0.51.1](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.51.0...v0.51.1) (2026-07-07)

### Features & Enhancements

- The SDK now emits page-view analytics events through `gusto-analytics` ([#2347](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2347))
- `Contractor.SignatureForm` groups the W-9 sections into distinct boxes and merges the consent into the signing step for a clearer layout ([#2357](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2357))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump dev dependencies (`typescript-eslint`, `vitest`) ([#2352](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2352), [#2353](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2353), [#2354](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2354), [#2355](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2355), [#2356](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2356))

## [0.51.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.50.0...v0.51.0) (2026-07-06)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **`@gusto/embedded-api` is now pinned to the dated `v2026-02-01` package** ([#2255](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2255)). Update your dependency and imports from `@gusto/embedded-api` to `@gusto/embedded-api-v-2026-02-01`. The `react-query`, `models`, and `errors` subpaths are otherwise unchanged.

- **Form-hook APIs are now accessed through `form.Fields` and `form.getFormSubmissionValues()`.** The building blocks that used to be exported alongside each hook are no longer part of the public API — reach for them via the hook instead:
  - **Field components** (e.g. `NameField`, `RoutingNumberField`, `SignatureField`) and the raw `*HookField` primitives (`TextInputHookField`, `SelectHookField`, `CheckboxHookField`, `NumberInputHookField`, `DatePickerHookField`, `RadioGroupHookField`, `SwitchHookField`) → render them from `form.Fields`.
  - **`create*Schema` factories** (e.g. `createBankFormSchema`, `createJobSchema`, `createEmployeeDetailsSchema`) → removed; the hook builds and applies its schema internally.
  - **`*FormOutputs` types** (e.g. `BankFormOutputs`, `JobFormOutputs`) → removed; type `defaultValues` against the hook's `*FormData` type and read parsed values from `form.getFormSubmissionValues()`.

  ```tsx
  const { form } = useBankForm({ employeeId })
  const { Name, RoutingNumber, AccountNumber, AccountType } = form.Fields
  // render <Name />, <RoutingNumber />, etc.
  const values = form.getFormSubmissionValues() // typed as the hook's FormData
  ```

- **Some field-interface types were renamed to the `*FormFields` convention.** If you reference them directly, update the names:
  - `ContractorAddressFields` → `ContractorAddressFormFields`
  - `ContractorDetailsFields` → `ContractorDetailsFormFields`
  - `PayScheduleFields` → `PayScheduleFormFields`
  - `FederalTaxesFields` → `FederalTaxesFormFields`
  - `SignEmployeeFormFieldComponents` → `SignEmployeeFormFields`
  - `EmployeeDetailsFields` → `EmployeeDetailsFormFields`
  - `HomeAddressFields` → `HomeAddressFormFields`
  - `WorkAddressFields` → `WorkAddressFormFields`

- **`form.getFormSubmissionValues()` now returns the hook's typed `FormData`** instead of `Record<string, unknown>` ([#2341](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2341)). Code that indexed arbitrary keys off the result may need updating to the concrete field names.

- **`EMAIL_REQUIRED_FOR_SELF_ONBOARDING` was removed from `EmployeeDetailsErrorCodes`** ([#2341](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2341)). The `Fields.Email` `validationMessages` type is narrowed to `REQUIRED | INVALID_EMAIL`, and an empty email during self-onboarding now emits `REQUIRED`. Update any custom copy keyed on the old code.

## [0.50.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.49.0...v0.50.0) (2026-07-01)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **The field exports `NameField`, `RoutingNumberField`, `AccountNumberField`, `AccountTypeField`, and `ContractorPaymentMethodTypeField` have been removed** ([#2303](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2303)). These fields depend on their form's context and were never functional when imported and rendered on their own, so this only affects direct imports of the symbols. Access them from the relevant hook's `form.Fields`, which wires up the required context:

  ```tsx
  const { form } = useContractorBankAccountForm({ contractorId })
  const { Name, RoutingNumber, AccountNumber, AccountType } = form.Fields
  // ...render <Name />, <RoutingNumber />, etc.
  const paymentMethodForm = useContractorPaymentMethodForm({ contractorId })
  const { Type } = paymentMethodForm.form.Fields // was ContractorPaymentMethodTypeField
  ```

### Features & Enhancements

- Add `useContractorBankAccountForm` and `useContractorPaymentMethodForm` hooks for building contractor payment-method and bank-account forms, each exposing its field components on `form.Fields` ([#2301](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2301), [#2302](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2302))
- `Contractor.PaymentMethod` now composes the new payment-method and bank-account hooks ([#2303](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2303))
- Expand const-derived reference types and export `SDKErrorCategories` ([#2320](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2320))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Bump `i18next` from 26.3.3 to 26.3.4 ([#2324](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2324))
- Bump dev dependencies (`@commitlint/cli`, `@commitlint/config-conventional`, `typescript-eslint`)

## [0.49.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.48.3...v0.49.0) (2026-06-30)

### ⚠ Breaking Changes

- **`ContractorProfile` / contractor `OnboardingFlow` `defaultValues` shape changed** (`ContractorProfileFormData`): `contractorType` is renamed to `type` (same `'Individual' | 'Business'` values), and `startDate` is now an ISO date string (`'YYYY-MM-DD'`) instead of a `Date`. All other keys are unchanged.

  ```tsx
  // Before
  <ContractorProfile
    defaultValues={{ contractorType: 'Individual', startDate: new Date('2024-02-15') }}
  />
  // After
  <ContractorProfile defaultValues={{ type: 'Individual', startDate: '2024-02-15' }} />
  ```

- **`placeholder` is now required on `Components.Select` and the `Fields.*` select wrappers** ([#2197](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2197)). Partners overriding `Components.Select` or rendering hook-generated `Fields.X` selects must pass `placeholder`. Partner UI adapters that already accept `placeholder` only need to make the prop required in their own types.

### Features & Enhancements

- Add `showContinueButton` prop to `EmployeeList` ([#2216](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2216))
- Add `Contractor.DocumentsList` component for listing contractor documents ([#2298](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2298))

## [0.48.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.47.1...v0.48.0) (2026-06-15)

### Breaking Changes

#### Removed deprecated namespace exports: `Company`, `Employee`, `Contractor`, `GustoApiProvider` ([#2120](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2120))

These umbrella exports have been removed in favor of the journey-based namespaces.

**`GustoApiProvider` → `GustoProvider`** (an alias since 0.8.0)

```tsx
// Before
import { GustoApiProvider } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<GustoApiProvider {...props} />
// After
import { GustoProvider } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<GustoProvider {...props} />
```

**`Company` → `CompanyOnboarding`**

```tsx
// Before
import { Company } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Company.OnboardingFlow {...props} />
// After
import { CompanyOnboarding } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<CompanyOnboarding.OnboardingFlow {...props} />
```

**`Employee` → `EmployeeOnboarding` / `EmployeeManagement`**

Onboarding components live in `EmployeeOnboarding`; post-hire management components live in `EmployeeManagement`. Tax and address components exist in both namespaces — pick the one that matches your surface.

```tsx
// Before
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Employee.Profile {...props} />
;<Employee.FederalTaxes {...props} />
// After
import { EmployeeOnboarding, EmployeeManagement } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<EmployeeManagement.Profile {...props} />
;<EmployeeOnboarding.FederalTaxes {...props} />
```

**`Contractor` → `ContractorOnboarding` / `ContractorManagement`**

Onboarding components (`OnboardingFlow`, `ContractorList`, `ContractorProfile`, `Address`, `PaymentMethod`, `NewHireReport`, `ContractorSubmit`) live in `ContractorOnboarding`. Payment components (`PaymentFlow`, `PaymentsList`, `CreatePayment`, `PaymentHistory`, `PaymentSummary`, `PaymentStatement`) live in the new `ContractorManagement` namespace.

```tsx
// Before
import { Contractor } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Contractor.OnboardingFlow {...props} />
;<Contractor.PaymentFlow {...props} />
// After
import { ContractorOnboarding, ContractorManagement } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<ContractorOnboarding.OnboardingFlow {...props} />
;<ContractorManagement.PaymentFlow {...props} />
```

#### Removed deprecated `Employee.Taxes` component and `EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE` event ([#2098](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2098))

Tax collection was split into separate federal and state components. The combined `Employee.Taxes` component, its i18n namespace, and the `EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE` event have been removed. The two components are now separate routing steps — `FederalTaxes` emits `EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE`, and `StateTaxes` emits `EMPLOYEE_STATE_TAXES_DONE` when complete.

```tsx
// Before
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Employee.Taxes employeeId={employeeId} onEvent={onEvent} />
// After
import { EmployeeOnboarding } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<EmployeeOnboarding.FederalTaxes employeeId={employeeId} onEvent={onEvent} />
;<EmployeeOnboarding.StateTaxes employeeId={employeeId} onEvent={onEvent} />
```

`EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE` → `EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE` + `EMPLOYEE_STATE_TAXES_DONE`:

```tsx
// Before
if (event.eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE) {
  navigate('/next_step')
}
// After
if (event.eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE) {
  navigate('/state_taxes')
}
// in the StateTaxes onEvent handler:
if (event.eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_STATE_TAXES_DONE) {
  navigate('/next_step')
}
```

#### `TimeOff.PolicySettings` is now the data-connected component ([#2119](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2119))

`TimeOff.PolicySettings` now refers to the data-connected component, whose props are `{ policyId, mode?, onEvent }` (`PolicySettingsProps`). The presentational component is now exported as `TimeOff.PolicySettingsPresentation` with `PolicySettingsPresentationProps`.

```tsx
// Before — TimeOff.PolicySettings was the presentational component
import { TimeOff, type PolicySettingsProps } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<TimeOff.PolicySettings {...presentationalProps} />
// After — the presentational component is renamed
import { TimeOff, type PolicySettingsPresentationProps } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<TimeOff.PolicySettingsPresentation {...presentationalProps} />
// TimeOff.PolicySettings now fetches its own data
;<TimeOff.PolicySettings policyId={policyId} onEvent={onEvent} />
```

## [0.47.0](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/compare/v0.46.3...v0.47.0) (2026-06-08)

### Breaking Changes

- Compensation wage-label i18n keys were consolidated under a single source of truth. If you override compensation labels, update your translation overrides in the `Employee.Compensation` namespace ([#1984](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1984)):

  ```diff
  - "Employee.Compensation.amount": "Compensation amount"
  - "Employee.Compensation.paymentUnitLabel": "Wage frequency"
  - "Employee.Compensation.management.wageLabel": "Wage"
  - "Employee.Compensation.management.wageFrequencyLabel": "Wage frequency"
  + "Employee.Compensation.wageLabel": "Wage"
  + "Employee.Compensation.wageFrequencyLabel": "Wage frequency"
  ```

  The Add and Management compensation forms now share these top-level `wageLabel` / `wageFrequencyLabel` keys (both display "Wage" instead of the former "Compensation amount").

### Features & Enhancements

- Extract every `DashboardFlow` card into a standalone, independently-consumable management block — `Profile`, `HomeAddress`, `WorkAddress`, `Compensation`, `Deductions`, `Documents`, `Paystubs`, `PaymentMethod`, and `Federal`/`State` taxes — so each can be embedded on its own ([#1976](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1976), [#1992](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1992), [#2007](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2007), [#2036](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2036), [#2008](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2008), [#2030](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2030), [#2011](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2011), [#2006](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2006), [#2022](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2022), [#2021](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2021))
- Add `OnboardingExecutionFlow` and skip the redundant employee list in `EmployeeListFlow` ([#1990](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1990))
- Surface FLSA-aware alerts in compensation forms — commission-only federal-minimum-pay and minimum-wage warnings, plus an owner reasonable-salary reminder — via new `useCompensationForm` `status` flags (`showCommissionFederalMinimumPayAlert`, `showCommissionMinimumWageAlert`, `showOwnerSalaryAlert`). Wage and wage-frequency inputs are hidden for commission-only statuses ([#1984](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1984))
- `PayrollList`: disable Run Payroll on regular rows while transition payrolls are pending ([#1989](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1989))

### Fixes

- Surface home address submit errors inside the edit/create modal instead of at the page level ([#1993](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1993))
- Pin the Current home address card to the active row ([#1985](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1985))
- Show deduction cap fields consistently across the create and edit forms ([#1997](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1997))
- Stop showing "0% per paycheck" for fixed-cap garnishments ([#1998](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1998))
- Return to the dashboard after signing a document ([#1999](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1999))
- Stop a failed PDF preview fetch from surfacing as a signing error ([#2032](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2032))
- Align the onboarding compensation form layout and alert conditions with the management forms ([#2046](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2046))
- Add clarifying copy to the remove-secondary-jobs warning ([#2005](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2005))
- Remove the gap between tabs and table in the management employee list ([#2051](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2051))

### Chores & Maintenance

- Upgrade to the `@gusto/embedded-api-v-2025-11-15` API package ([#1814](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/1814))
- Standardize management card loading with per-card Suspense boundaries and normalize `useCompensationManagement` return shape ([#2054](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2054), [#2048](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2048))
- Share PaymentMethod bank/split form bodies via an injected dictionary and give Profile/HomeAddress their own management i18n namespaces ([#2045](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2045), [#2053](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2053), [#2044](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2044))
- Expand TSDoc coverage across models, internal hooks, and PaymentMethod docs ([#2043](https://github.com/Gusto/embedded-react-sdk/issues/2043))
- Bump dependencies (`react-hook-form`, `i18next`, `dompurify`, `vite`, `react-router-dom`, `typescript-eslint`, `@storybook/*`, `fuse.js`, `axe-core`, and others)

- Bump `fast-uri` to `3.1.2` (transitive npm/yarn security update)

## 0.44.0

### Breaking Changes

#### `UNSTABLE_TimeOff` namespace renamed to `TimeOff`

TimeOff components are now exported as `TimeOff.*` instead of `UNSTABLE_TimeOff.*`:

```tsx
// Before
import { UNSTABLE_TimeOff } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<UNSTABLE_TimeOff.TimeOffFlow companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
// After
import { TimeOff } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<TimeOff.TimeOffFlow companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
```

#### `useCompensationForm` split into `useJobForm` + `useCompensationForm`

The monolithic `useCompensationForm` has been decomposed into focused, steady-state hooks so partners can drive job and compensation lifecycles independently or together.

- `useJobForm` / `useCurrentJobForm`: create | update routing, error handling, and POST/PUT/DELETE wiring for the Jobs API.
- `useCompensationForm` / `useCurrentCompensationForm`: single create | update path covering both the onboarding stub-update case and steady-state effective-dated compensations, with optimistic-locking via version.

`useCompensationForm.actions.onSubmit` changed from `(callbacks?, options?)` to `(options?)`. The `CompensationSubmitCallbacks` export is removed. Read the saved compensation from the awaited `HookSubmitResult`'s `data` field instead of wiring `onCompensationCreated` / `onCompensationUpdated`.

#### `Employee.Profile` migrated to hook architecture with management variant

`Employee.Profile` has been rebuilt on the hook architecture and now supports steady-state edit mode. `useEmployeeDetailsForm` props are now a discriminated union on `companyId`/`employeeId`. `EmployeeOnboarding.Profile` and `EmployeeManagement.Profile` each point to their dedicated variant.

#### `Employee.FederalTaxes` split into onboarding + management variants

The `isOnboarding` prop has been replaced with two journey-scoped components:

- `EmployeeOnboarding.FederalTaxes` — Continue button, emits `EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_UPDATED` + `EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE`.
- `EmployeeManagement.FederalTaxes` — Cancel + Save, dismissible success alert, emits `CANCEL` or `EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_UPDATED` (no `_DONE`).

`Employee.FederalTaxes` now resolves to the management variant (matching the WorkAddress/HomeAddress convention).

### Features & Enhancements

## 0.40.0

### Breaking Changes

#### `composeSubmitHandler` now returns `{ handleSubmit, errorHandling }`

`composeSubmitHandler` now returns an object with both the submit event handler
and an aggregated `errorHandling` bag built from the forms it receives, instead
of returning the submit handler directly. Partners who only need one shared error
surface across multiple forms no longer have to call `composeErrorHandler`
themselves.

- **Before**: `const handleSubmit = composeSubmitHandler([formA, formB], onAllValid)`
- **After**: `const { handleSubmit, errorHandling } = composeSubmitHandler([formA, formB], onAllValid)`

For screens that also need to combine extra `@gusto/embedded-api` queries into
the same error surface, pass the `composeSubmitHandler` result into
`composeErrorHandler` alongside those queries:

```tsx
const submitResult = composeSubmitHandler([formA, formB], onAllValid)
const errorHandling = composeErrorHandler([submitResult, extraQuery])
```

#### Hooks now exported from main entry point

All form hooks have graduated from experimental to stable. They are now available
directly from the main package entry:

- **Before**: `import { useCompensationForm } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk/UNSTABLE_Hooks'`
- **After**: `import { useCompensationForm } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'`

The `@gusto/embedded-react-sdk/UNSTABLE_Hooks` entry point has been removed. All hook
exports are now available from the main package entry.

**Find and replace**: Search your codebase for
`from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk/UNSTABLE_Hooks'`
and replace with `from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'`.

#### Prebuilt hook form components removed

The following prebuilt components have been removed: `CompensationForm`,
`EmployeeDetailsForm`, `WorkAddressForm`, `HomeAddressForm`, `PayScheduleForm`,
`SignCompanyForm`, `SignEmployeeForm`, `SignEmployeeI9Form`. These were internal
testing artifacts. Use the corresponding hooks directly (e.g., `useCompensationForm`)
to build custom form UI.

#### `Employee.ManagementEmployeeList` removed

`ManagementEmployeeList` is no longer exported from the `Employee` umbrella namespace. Use `EmployeeManagement.EmployeeList` instead:

```tsx
// Before
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Employee.ManagementEmployeeList companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
// After
import { EmployeeManagement } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<EmployeeManagement.EmployeeList companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
```

#### `Employee.*`, `Company.*`, and `Contractor.*` umbrella namespaces deprecated

The flat `Employee`, `Company`, and `Contractor` namespace exports are now **deprecated** in favor of the new journey-based namespaces (`EmployeeOnboarding`, `EmployeeManagement`, `CompanyOnboarding`, `ContractorOnboarding`). Existing imports continue to work without changes, but partners should migrate at their convenience:

```tsx
// Deprecated (still works)
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<Employee.OnboardingFlow companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
// Recommended
import { EmployeeOnboarding } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
;<EmployeeOnboarding.OnboardingFlow companyId={companyId} onEvent={handleEvent} />
```

The `Employee`, `Company`, and `Contractor` umbrella namespaces will be removed in a future major version. The `Payroll` and `InformationRequests` namespaces are unaffected and remain the primary import path for those domains.

### Features & Enhancements

- Add journey-based export namespaces (`EmployeeOnboarding`, `EmployeeManagement`, `CompanyOnboarding`, `ContractorOnboarding`) grouping flows and components by integration use case
- Add PolicySettings presentation component for time-off policy creation
- Fetch and display holiday pay policy in PolicyList

- Add flex properties to Box so content fills remaining space in parent
- Remove scroll-into-view behavior on alerts
- Remove overriding text instances in payroll receipt data views
- Add spacing between description list items when rendered without dividing lines
- Make PaySchedule create/edit tests more robust

### Chores & Maintenance

- Migrate Employee Profile to hook-based architecture
- Replace error-handling helpers with `composeErrorHandler`
- Partner hooks `BaseHookReady` typing (SDK-778)
- Restructure `EmployeeList` into a feature module layout (internal, no public API change)
- Update prototype app to use SDK components
- Add document requirements list to contractor submit view
- Add comprehensive Employee Profile component tests
- Add Cursor skill for migrating SDK components to hooks
- Add prototype-app design prototyping environment

## 0.39.0

### Breaking Changes

#### Box component adapter (`header`, `withPadding` props)

The `Box` component now accepts a `header` prop (used for section titles and actions) and a `withPadding` prop. If you supply a custom **Box** via the [component adapter](./docs/component-adapter/component-adapter.md), update it to handle the new props:

```tsx
// Before
Box: ({ children, footer, className }) => (
  <div className={className}>
    <div className="box-body">{children}</div>
    {footer && <div className="box-footer">{footer}</div>}
  </div>
)
// After
Box: ({ children, header, footer, withPadding = true, className }) => (
  <div className={className}>
    {header && <div className="box-header">{header}</div>}
    <div className="box-body" style={withPadding ? undefined : { padding: 0 }}>
      {children}
    </div>
    {footer && <div className="box-footer">{footer}</div>}
  </div>
)
```

#### New `BoxHeader` component adapter

A new **BoxHeader** component has been added to the component adapter. It renders a title, optional description, and optional action (e.g. an "Edit" button) inside `Box` headers. If you provide a custom component adapter, add a `BoxHeader` implementation:

```tsx
BoxHeader: ({ title, description, action, headingLevel = 'h3' }) => {
  const Heading = headingLevel
  return (
    <div style={{ display: 'flex', justifyContent: 'space-between', alignItems: 'center' }}>
      <div>
        <Heading>{title}</Heading>
        {description && <p>{description}</p>}
      </div>
      {action && <div>{action}</div>}
    </div>
  )
}
```

#### Table `variant` prop replaced with `isWithinBox`

The Table component's `variant` prop has been replaced with `isWithinBox`. The SDK sets `isWithinBox={true}` on tables that are rendered inside a `Box` layout element, so your adapter can remove redundant borders, shadows, or background colors to avoid visual doubling. If you supply a custom **Table** via the component adapter, update your implementation:

```tsx
// Before: variant?: 'default' | 'minimal'
Table: ({ variant = 'default', ...props }) => (
  <table style={variant === 'minimal' ? { border: 'none' } : undefined} {...props} />
)
// After: isWithinBox?: boolean — true when the table is inside a Box
Table: ({ isWithinBox = false, ...props }) => (
  <table
    style={
      isWithinBox
        ? { border: 'none', borderRadius: 0, boxShadow: 'none', background: 'transparent' }
        : undefined
    }
    {...props}
  />
)
```

#### DescriptionList new `layout` and `showSeparators` props

The `DescriptionList` component now accepts `layout` (`'stacked' | 'horizontal'`) and `showSeparators` (boolean) props. If you supply a custom **DescriptionList**, update it to handle these props for proper rendering in the Employee Dashboard and other views.

#### Card component adapter (selection props)

If you supply a custom **Card** via the [component adapter](./docs/component-adapter/component-adapter.md), update it to use the new API: the Card no longer receives `onSelect`. Selection UI (checkbox or radio) is now passed as the `action` prop.

```tsx
// Before: Card received onSelect and rendered its own checkbox
Card: ({ children, menu, className, onSelect }) => (
  <div className={className}>
    {onSelect && <input type="checkbox" onChange={e => onSelect(e.target.checked)} />}
    {children}
    {menu}
  </div>
)
// After: Card receives pre-rendered selection UI via action
Card: ({ children, menu, className, action }) => (
  <div className={className}>
    {action}
    {children}
    {menu}
  </div>
)
```

### Breaking changes

#### Theme variable `fontLineHeight` removed

The theme variable `fontLineHeight` has been removed. Update your theme object to use the new line height variables:

```tsx
// Before
theme={{
  typography: {
    fontLineHeight: '24px',
  }
}}
// After
theme={{
  fontLineHeightRegular: '24px',
  // Optional: Add more specific line heights if needed
  fontLineHeightSmall: '20px',
  fontLineHeightLarge: '28px',
  fontLineHeightExtraSmall: '18px',
}}
```

#### Theme `colorBorder` replaced with `colorBorderPrimary` and `colorBorderSecondary`

The single `colorBorder` theme variable has been replaced with two variables for clearer border styling.

For a consistent experience, use the same color for both new variables:

```tsx
// Before
theme={{
  colorBorder: '#E0E0E0'
}}
// After
theme={{
  colorBorderPrimary: '#E0E0E0',
  colorBorderSecondary: '#E0E0E0'
}}
```

### Migrating `Employee.Taxes` to `Employee.StateTaxes` and `Employee.FederalTaxes`

We have split the `Employee.Taxes` component into dedicated `Employee.StateTaxes` and `Employee.FederalTaxes` components. The `Employee.Taxes` component is now deprecated and will be removed in a future version.

#### Component Usage

**Before (using combined Employee.Taxes):**

```tsx
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
// In employee onboarding flow
<Employee.Taxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  isAdmin
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when taxes is done
    }
  }}
/>
// In self-onboarding flow
<Employee.Taxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  isAdmin={false}
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when taxes is done
    }
  }}
/>
```

**After (using separate components):**

```tsx
import { Employee } from '@gusto/embedded-react-sdk'
// In employee onboarding flow - Federal Taxes step
<Employee.FederalTaxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when federal taxes is done
    }
  }}
/>
// In employee onboarding flow - State Taxes step
<Employee.StateTaxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  isAdmin
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_STATE_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when state taxes is done
    }
  }}
/>
// In self-onboarding flow - Federal Taxes step
<Employee.FederalTaxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_FEDERAL_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when federal taxes is done
    }
  }}
/>
// In self-onboarding flow - State Taxes step
<Employee.StateTaxes
  employeeId="employee-id"
  isAdmin={false}
  onEvent={(eventType) => {
    if (eventType === componentEvents.EMPLOYEE_STATE_TAXES_DONE) {
      // called when state taxes is done
    }
> Note: We are pre alpha and are regularly iterating on the SDK as we learn more about our consumers and their needs which sometimes involves breaking changes. [Read more about our current versioning strategy here](./docs/04/01/versioning.md).
#### Legacy theming infrastructure has been removed in favor of simplified flat theme approach
The legacy theming system with nested objects and complex component-specific themes has been updated. The new system uses a flat theme object that is more straightforward and easier to use.
See the following docs for more context:
- [Theming overview](./docs/theming/theming.md)
- [Theme variables inventory](./docs/theming/theme-variables.md)
The following example provides a before and after with a mapping of the old theme object to the new equivalent.
**Before (nested structure):**
```tsx
<GustoProvider
  theme={{
    typography: {
      font: 'Geist', // Maps to fontFamily
      fontWeight: {
        regular: 400, // Maps to fontWeightRegular

        medium: '18px', // Maps to fontSizeLarge
      },

#### Rename components to remove the "Flow" naming suffix

The following components have been updated to remove the "Flow" naming suffix.

| Old name                      | Updated name              |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------------- |
| `Employee.DocumentSignerFlow` | `Employee.DocumentSigner` |
| `Company.LocationsFlow`       | `Company.Locations`       |
| `Company.BankAccountFlow`     | `Company.BankAccount`     |
| `Company.StateTaxesFlow`      | `Company.StateTaxes`      |
| `Company.DocumentSignerFlow`  | `Company.DocumentSigner`  |

#### Removed top level Flow component and renamed flow subcomponents

We have removed the top level `Flow` component and have migrated the flow subcomponents to `Employee` and `Company` respectively.

| Old name                          | Updated name                  |
| --------------------------------- | ----------------------------- |
| `Flow.EmployeeOnboardingFlow`     | `Employee.OnboardingFlow`     |

<Flow.EmployeeSelfOnboardingFlow ... />

```
#### Deprecation of GustoApiProvider in favor of GustoProvider
`GustoApiProvider` has been deprecated and will be removed in a future version. Please update your code to use `GustoProvider` instead:
```tsx
// Before
<GustoApiProvider config={{ baseUrl: 'https://api.example.com' }}>
  {children}
</GustoApiProvider>

// After
<GustoProvider config={{ baseUrl: 'https://api.example.com' }}>
  {children}
</GustoProvider>
```
## 0.7.0
### Breaking changes
> Note: We are pre alpha and are regularly iterating on the SDK as we learn more about our consumers and their needs which sometimes involves breaking changes. [Read more about our current versioning strategy here](./docs/04/01/versioning.md).
#### Update default values from snake case to camel case
For internal consistency in our codebase, we updated the `defaultValues` props for all Employee components from snake case values (ex. `first_name`) to be camel cased instead (ex. `firstName`). For example, where before you would do:
```tsx
<Employee.Profile
  defaultValues={{
    employee: {
      first_name: 'Angela',
      last_name: 'Martin'
    },
    homeAddress: {
      street_1: '123 Fake St'
    }
  }}
  ...
/>

// or

<Employee.Compensation
  defaultValues={{
    flsa_status: 'Exempt'
  }}
  ...
>
```
You would do the following instead::
```tsx
<Employee.Profile
  defaultValues={{
    employee: {
      firstName: 'Angela',
      lastName: 'Martin'
    },
    homeAddress: {
      street1: '123 Fake St'
    }
  }}
  ...
/>

// or

<Employee.Compensation
  defaultValues={{
    flsaStatus: 'Exempt'
  }}
  ...
>
```
#### DocumentSigner has been renamed to DocumentSignerFlow
> This was actually reverted in 0.8.2. If you have DocumentSigner as the component name, you can continue to use that if you are on 0.8.2 or later. Between 0.7.0 up until 0.8.2 the naming is DocumentSignerFlow
Where you would previously do
```tsx
<Employee.DocumentSigner employeeId="some-id" onEvent={() => {}} />
```
You should update the naming as follows:
```tsx
<Employee.DocumentSignerFlow employeeId="some-id" onEvent={() => {}} />
```
## 0.6.0
- Allow for default value for flsa_status (employment type field) in compensation
- The default font that ships with the SDK has been updated to 'Geist' so that will update if you do not have a default font specified in your theme
- Update company Industry component to use speakeasy
- Update Employee List component to use speakeasy
- Add a CalendarDisplay component and introduce it to Company PaySchedule component
- Add `isSelfOnboardingEnabled` prop to Employee profile components to disallow self onboarding
- Add company PaySchedule component
- Add styling to SDK internal error component
### Breaking changes
> Note: We are pre alpha and are regularly iterating on the SDK as we learn more about our consumers and their needs which sometimes involves breaking changes. [Read more about our current versioning strategy here](./docs/04/01/versioning.md).
#### Update GustoApiProvider `baseUrl` property to use an absolute URL
Ex. previously you could set a `baseUrl` to a relative URL as follows
```ts
<GustoApiProvider
  config={{
    baseUrl: `some/url/path/`,
  }}
  ...
>
...
</GustoApiProvider>
```
Moving forward, we require setting an absolute URL. Ex updating to be:
```ts
<GustoApiProvider
  config={{
    baseUrl: `https://api.example.com/some/url/path/`,
  }}
  ...
>
...
</GustoApiProvider>
```
#### fontWeight override for typography theme has been changed from `book` to `regular`
Ex. so if you were overriding the `fontWeight` property before using `book`
```ts
<GustoApiProvider
  theme={{
    typography: {
      fontWeight: {
        book: 400,
      },
    },
  }}
  ...
>
...
</GustoApiProvider>
```
You will want to update to use `regular` instead as follows
```ts
<GustoApiProvider
  theme={{
    typography: {
      fontWeight: {
        regular: 400,
      },
    },
  }}
  ...
>
...
</GustoApiProvider>
```
