Using the SDK

  • Setup guide — Schwab portal registration, environment, first authentication.
  • Callback URL rules — what Schwab accepts as a redirect URI; the setup guide covers local HTTPS, including a trusted certificate.
  • Placing orders — constructors for single-leg, option, multi-leg and composite orders; the JSON OrderSpec.
  • Real-time streaming — services, field selection, backpressure and reconnect semantics.
  • Python bindings — pip install rustyschwab: authorization, quotes, order templates, streaming (async, blocking, market-hours scheduled), strategies in backtest, paper and live, performance reports, NautilusTrader, and error handling.
  • Coming from Schwabdev — every Schwabdev call and its equivalent, Trader Context included, and what behaves differently.
  • Troubleshooting — 401s, symbol formatting, TLS, async pitfalls.
