Description
I am seeing random USB audio disconnects with my Audeze Maxwell on Atlas. The dongle disappears from Device Manager entirely and reconnects after a few seconds, causing complete audio loss. The issue reproduces only on Atlas; stock Windows and ReviOS do not show it.
I narrowed this down further:
-
The issue reproduces only on Atlas; stock Windows and ReviOS do not show it.
-
USB selective suspend and USB hub power-management changes did not help.
-
The Maxwell USB-C dongle is connected through a USBHUB3 root hub on the AMD USB controller.
-
The device is enumerated as:
USB\VID_3329&PID_4B18
USB\VID_3329&PID_4B18&MI_01
USB\VID_3329&PID_4B18&MI_04
- Event Viewer shows Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 with \Driver\WUDFRd and Status: 0xC0000365 for the Maxwell HID interface.
The system log did not show a clean, consistent USBHUB3 error at the moment of drop, so the failure may be happening below the normal audio-service layer.
AudioEndpointBuilder, Audiosrv, and PlugPlay are running normally.
If needed, I can provide the exact timestamped event-log output and a screenshot of Device Manager while the device is present.
Steps to reproduce
- Run Atlas Playbook on a fresh Windows 11 25H2 system.
- Connect an Audeze Maxwell USB-C dongle directly to the motherboard’s rear USB port.
- Use the headset normally, including 24-bit/96 kHz output and Dolby Atmos.
- Wait for an intermittent drop or reproduce heavy USB activity.
- Observe that the dongle disappears from Device Manager entirely and audio drops out for several seconds before the device re-enumerates.
Expected behavior
The Audeze Maxwell USB-C dongle should remain connected and usable on Atlas the same way it does on stock Windows and ReviOS, without random device disappearance or multi-second audio loss.
Actual behavior
The Audeze Maxwell dongle periodically disappears from Device Manager completely on Atlas, causing audio to drop out for several seconds before the device re-enumerates. This does not happen on stock Windows or ReviOS.
